Hi, this is Judith Albino from Denver and San Francisco. I don't know why I don't have an email name as others seem to. I wrote the message asking about the 7/08 trip.

I just signed up for the 7/08-20 trip. Who is going then?

Paul Ellsworth Apr 20, 2015 at 01:59 PM

Anybody signed up for the 6/10-22 trip?

Has anybody participated in the independent program learning French in Paris? How is the school? Small classes? Thanks Lydia
Carolyn Kinsmam Mar 19, 2015 at 10:01 AM

I have not done the program in Paris but have done the Trois Riviers in Quebec for three weeks
Lydia Balizet Mar 19, 2015 at 02:40 PM

how was it ? were the classes small? How many different levels ?
Carolyn Kinsmam Mar 25, 2015 at 01:01 PM

Sorry for the delay in answering. The classes are small and depending on enrollment there is usually a beginner, at least two levels of intermediate and then maybe two levels of advanced. Happy to discuss this in further detail off line if you want

I notice in the Information Packet (p.25) RS suggest cotton clothing (shirts/tops). I recommend going to capilene, smartwool, or polyester/spandex blends. These not only absorb moisture, they also release it much faster than cotton. They're good for the quick wash in the hotel tub, too.

Stephane: I have stayed at the f6 last year. It is a small but very nice hotel. Really great breakfasts. While in Geneva your room tax pays for transit so its a good time to WHO, United Nations, etc. I am coming in one day early and am torn between Geneva or getting up into the mountains to adapt to the altitude.
deborah jerome Mar 12, 2015 at 07:05 PM

I have three days....staying in Lausanne. Still trying to decide if I'll head directly to the starting location, or going back to the airport to meet the group.
Harry Jones Mar 13, 2015 at 09:58 AM

In this case it is probably easier just to take the direct train back to the airport (45 min) then to have to take the train to Aigle or Bex and change to bus or cogwheel train and then get from the Villars station to the hotel with your bags.
Harry Jones Mar 13, 2015 at 10:09 AM

Carolyn: I would not worry about the altitude. Villars is at only 1300m (4000') and you will mainly be there or below the first couple of days. Even going up the mountain to Bretaye at 1806m (5500') should not be a problem. Nobody on my trip had any problems with altitude in Villars.
Carolyn Kinsmam Mar 25, 2015 at 01:03 PM

Thanks for the comment. I have been to Villars before but ......... think I will need the day

Anyone out there scheduled for the June 24-July 6th Mont Blanc trip?
Deborah

Harry Jones Feb 05, 2015 at 03:29 PM

I did this trip last year and spent three days prior in the area. Email me at hjones@prodigy.net if you would like some suggestions on what you could do those three days, and how to get a regional pass good for trains, bus, and lake steamers at the Geneva airport.
