Is anyone going on the May 14,2016 trip? We are flying via LAX to Heathrow, then on to Johannesburg!
Sharon Koscik Jan 22, 2016 at 02:09 PM

My husband, Ed, and I will be on that trip. We'll be in Ireland on a RS trip and then flying to Africa via Heathrow..
Kathleen Miller Jan 26, 2016 at 01:14 PM

My husband David and I are on that trip. We will be in Cape Town for a professional meeting before coming to Johannesberg. We are originating from Illinois, coming through Chicago and Heathrow.
Sharon Koscik Jan 26, 2016 at 05:59 PM

This is going to be a great trip!

Robin Krivanek Sep 25, 2015 at 04:19 PM

Anyone going on the 10/9 trip? There are three of us going from Florida via Atlanta.

Larry Marten Sep 14, 2015 at 06:54 PM

Oh my goodness!! We are so close to leaving! How exciting!
Roger & Deborah Poulin Sep 15, 2015 at 08:57 AM

So excited I can't seem to focus. 1/2 packed, dog bathed and taken to sitter. Spending Thursday night in Boston for our 7 am flight to JFK.

Anna Berman Sep 16, 2015 at 07:13 PM

So so very exciting. See you all soon, very soon.

peggy stolowitz Aug 29, 2015 at 06:53 PM

make sure that you have shoes or sneakers with deep treads, they are necessary. Loved the trip
Roger & Deborah Poulin Aug 31, 2015 at 10:49 PM

Sneakers or hiking boots?? For a Sept trip.
peggy stolowitz Sep 01, 2015 at 04:37 PM

I was thinking about weight of shoes, does not matter if treads are good. Enjoy
Sharon Koscik Jan 23, 2016 at 07:55 AM

We are going in May. Did you need sneakers or hiking shoes?
peggy stolowitz Jan 23, 2016 at 12:49 PM

hiking boots are great. I found that the floor tiles are slippery, at least that was my experience. enjoy

Roger & Deborah Poulin Aug 28, 2015 at 11:32 AM

Just received confirmation for flight out of New York, JFK at 11:15 am, Sept 18. I wonder if all or most of us will be on the same flight. South African Airways SA204
Anna Berman Aug 28, 2015 at 07:29 PM

I am going from San Francisco to Dulles and then to Johannnesburg. Wd have been nice to meet another program member there but I'll just have to be patient until I meet you all.have a safe flt.
Larry Marten Aug 28, 2015 at 07:44 PM

We, too, are on the flight leaving JFK at 11:15. We are so excited about this adventure!!
Roger & Deborah Poulin Aug 30, 2015 at 05:52 PM

We will probably be wearing our RS tag around our neck, so feel free to come and identify yourself to us. We would love that. I think there are only two flights to Johannesburg each day, one from JFK and one from Dulles. It's hard to concentrate on anythign else these days.
Anna Berman Aug 30, 2015 at 11:07 PM

I agree with yr last sentence completely. It'll be a great trip.
Larry Marten Aug 30, 2015 at 11:09 PM

Larry and I will wear our name tags and we can watch for each other! We pulled out our bags today and started gathering-- quite unusual for us last minute packers. So excited!!
Roger & Deborah Poulin Aug 31, 2015 at 08:07 AM

Haha, us too. Will be watching for you.
Anna Berman Aug 31, 2015 at 07:09 PM

Thank you.

Anna Berman Aug 21, 2015 at 04:09 PM

Plse let me know. Thanks.
Larry Marten Aug 22, 2015 at 04:08 PM

Anna Berman Aug 22, 2015 at 07:28 PM

Thanks for yr answer. I too am looking forward to meeting you all.
Roger & Deborah Poulin Aug 23, 2015 at 11:07 PM

We will be leaving from New York as well for the Sept 18th trip from Maine. It's only 3 weeks away now.

Roger & Deborah Poulin Aug 06, 2015 at 11:42 PM

Wondering, will any of our lodging facilities have an internet connection. I plan to unplug but it would be nice to be in touch with family members from time to time.
Dan Follmer Aug 07, 2015 at 12:26 AM

Plan on bring unplugged the 95% of the trip. This includes text messages just let your family know you will be out of touch and connect when you can
Roger & Deborah Poulin Aug 24, 2015 at 04:16 PM

Ok, got that. How about electricity for charging devices? I want to leave behind anything I can't charge or bring lots of batteries.
Dan Follmer Aug 24, 2015 at 05:28 PM

the only place you will needextra batteries in in the tent camp, but there is limited charging available via the truck's batteries. all other places have electricity, however the pamphlet is wrong about the coverters. the one listed for South Africa is the correct one for the whole trip.. Unfortunely you cna't buy that one in any convient store so get it online.

Roger & Deborah Poulin Aug 03, 2015 at 10:52 PM

We are getting very excited about this trip, we will be going on the Sept 18th trip to October 2nd. Are their any folks on the board that will be going at this time. We are traveling from Maine.
