ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

I'm flying out of Atlanta on June 11 NOT June 18.

Grace Rintzler Apr 30, 2013 at 01:46 PM

My husband and I are considering taking this trip with two of our grandchildren. I was told by someone at Road Scholar that an adult has to be in a room with each child - which would squash our inital thought of having our two grandsons share a room with each other. However, I can't envision one of them having to share a room with his grandmother! Has this topic come up with anyone else, and if so, have you learned anything that I may not be aware of? Any thoughts or comments would be welcome! Thanks.

My husband and I and our 11 year old grandson are going on the June 18th trip to South Africa. Interested in connecting with others on this same trip. We have added 3 nights in Capetown before the 18th to our trip.

Pack warm clothes (layering is good) and have plenty of supplies for cameras, especially batteries and outlet converters to charge batteries. You are in for an amazing trip with great guides. Jane

I am flying out of Dallas with my grandson Grayson, age 10. My friend Barbie Standefer is flying out of Atlanta with her grandson Jackson, also 10. Looking forward to it!

Hi again, anyone going on the July 9-22 trip?

Julie Prafke Mar 09, 2013 at 05:23 PM

You need yellow fever to get into Africa. You will get a special yellow record for entry. Malaria is taken care of by oral meds that you will start a few days before you enter certain areas. This info should be in your packet and is very Important.

Many thanks!

Has anyone researched what shots we need? I assume malaria. What else? Thanks.
