Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Does anyone know if it is a good idea to bring my laptop ?
Michael Rainey May 25, 2013 at 06:04 PM

There was decent to excellent wireless available at almost every hotel. I had no problems using my laptop, and saw many other people using them.

Patricia Lucas May 08, 2013 at 07:12 PM

Water is no problem as the water in most places is perfectly fine to drink from the tap. Take your own empty along but water is bottled provided as needed.

Roberta Peets May 08, 2013 at 06:57 PM

We'll be on the May 14th trip as well - can hardly wait! Any problem with drinking water? Is bottled water readily available?

Pauline Ginsberg Apr 24, 2013 at 08:10 PM

I'm going on the May 14 trip and really looking forward to meeting everyone. Thanks for the great advice. Is anyone else leaving from Miami on American Airlines at noon?

Miriam Levitt Apr 08, 2013 at 05:03 PM

I had solid, but light-weight sneaker-type walking shoes that were water-resistant; and a good pair of sandals. I would have liked also a pair of beach sandals for the river rafting trip, in which my sandals got soaked and never dried.
Jimmy Keller May 09, 2013 at 06:26 PM

I wore KEEn water resistant sandls, and they were good for everything. Our guide had the same pair.
Jimmy Keller May 09, 2013 at 06:27 PM

Needed a better spelling job - KEEN sandals - Pat not Jim

Donna Gaunt Apr 02, 2013 at 08:07 AM

thank you Patricia - I leave in 2 weeks
plenty of sandals but no sneakers yet except some old ones but hope to get new
I saw all hotels had hairdryers,is that right
Patricia Lucas Apr 02, 2013 at 10:47 AM

Just wear the old sneakers and toss them at the end to make room for a souvenir! Re: hair dryers - I think 1 place did not have. You can look each lodge up on the internet for more info.

Donna Gaunt Apr 01, 2013 at 01:21 PM

is shampoo provided at all the hotels
Patricia Lucas Apr 01, 2013 at 04:04 PM

Most did. Take toiletries from first hotel that provides them and a small bar of their soap and you'll be set. Some places have soap and shampoo in dispensers only.

what kind of shoes are best for this pgm
Patricia Lucas Apr 01, 2013 at 04:04 PM

My keds gym shoes most of the time. Sandals for beach and bus rides. Higher top gym shoes for trails which can be muddy or have steps needing a little more traction and sure footedness.
