While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.
Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Hello, I have signed up for the trip with my grandson Max who is turning 12 in May. We live in Los Angeles and have been on trips together to Wash.D.C. and Mt. Rushmore. I would be pleased to connect with others on this trip. Marilyn Townsend @Rfobbs@msn.com.

I thought it was the best of the four Intergenerational trips I have taken with my granddaughter (she might disagree - she really liked Costa Rica!). Great leaders and program, beautiful places and a nice, companionable group of adults and almost teens (age range in our group was 11-13, with two girls and four boys).

Sara Bailey Nov 13, 2012 at 04:40 PM

For those who took this trip in 2012: Please let me know how you liked it--I am registered for this trip in 2013 with my granddaughter.

My granddaughter, who will be 12 when we travel, and I have just registered for this program in 2012. This will be her fourth Intergenerational program (previous Costa Rica, Germany, and Tadoussac, Canada) and we'd love to "meet" other program participants before our departure.

I would like to get my 12 yr. old grandson started on learning about Australia before our trip. Can anyone recommend some good appropriate books, movies or videos that I could get for him?
Bob Burkhart Dec 03, 2009 at 09:37 PM

Pat - Empower your grandson to do an online search with these keywords: Podstock.ning.com Australia Creativity 2010 -OR- NatGeoMaps.com Australia Astronomy Adventure 2010
Bob Burkhart Dec 03, 2009 at 09:50 PM

Pat - How about posting a "Learn & Share" summary with digital photos of your 2009 Intergenrational Road Scholar-Hawaii experiences with your grandson? http://www.roadscholar.org/programs/programdetail.asp?rowid=1%2D131JQ4

I'm considering taking my grandson on this trip, but first I would like to hear what others who have been on it think about their experience.
