I am considering this trip for May 8, but don't want to be the only "single". Anybody else traveling alone?
Carole Penzick Jan 31, 2016 at 12:50 PM

I am taking this trip on Feb 28 as a solo traveler. This will be my 6th RS trip & there has always been several singles on each trip.

Because of problems with Amtrak, I may be arriving late for the Jan. 24 orientation for the New Orleans program. Would there be anyone who would take notes for me if I don't get there in time?
Jon Schwartz Jan 21, 2016 at 06:16 PM

Let me guess, your train broke down (at least once) and they finallt put you on busses in Texas. Our trip took 86.5 hours from Los Angeles.
Joann Wasson Jan 21, 2016 at 08:04 PM

Close but not quite. The track between Jackson, MS and New Orleans has problems because of flooding. In the last four days the charter bus has been on time twice and late twice so I don't know which it will be. Which train did you take - the Southwest Chief?

I just signed up for the Feb 28 - March 4, 2016 trip! I will be staying an additional day to experience more of NOLA like Preservation Hall.

Three of us from NH will be on the March 13-18, 2006 trip. It will be our first Road Scholar experience. We usually do fly-drives our own across the US. Looking forward to meeting the group!

fun. The cooking class should be fun.
Joann Wasson Jan 14, 2016 at 10:39 PM

I was told it's more of a demo than a class and we eat the results. Pralines are the dessert so it should be good.
