Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

My wife Torre and I will be on the May 15-30 trip. I thought that everyone should read this shocking news about what is happening politically in Hungary: http://act.watchdog.net/petitions/2675?n=22592232.Qq31zV
It should make for some good discussion with our Hungarian tour guides.

I should add that I want to learn how much of this is true and how much is rumor and innuendo. That is what makes these trips so important.

I'm booked on the Sept 5, 2013 trip as a solo going in a few days earlier by myself. I have enjoyed Road Scholar and am really excited about this one and looking forward to meeting my co-travelers. Anyone booked on this one? Regards, Lillian

I'm booked on the June 5, 2013 trip as a solo. Traveling from Los Angeles. Anyone else on this trip? Jan

Pat and I will be on the 10 Oct trip. We're interested to see who else will be with us. We also would like to share a cab from Budapest hotel to airport in time for 0930 flight.

I was in Budapest in 1989 (when they had "Goulash Communism" and found it very interesting w warm people. The spa was a great experience and I plan to go again! And, BTW, I am NOT a "spa person".

Is there a possibility of visiting Auschwitz during this tour? possibly by skipping the Bratislava portion? I am interested in a trip this fall, 2012.
Ted Raab Aug 29, 2012 at 04:15 PM

We see you are signed up for this trip "as is". We'd love to make further acquaintence prior to the trip. See my post to Janet below and tell us a little about yourself. We live in Fort Lauderdale and will go over early, arriving in Prague the day before the Program starts.

This is my first Road Scholar trip and I am travelling solo flying out of LAX. I'd like to hear from others on this trip, as I'm a little out of my comfort zone.

My wife, Pat, and I are on this program. Pat has enjoyed several RS programs but has not been on one since about 2001. I had a great experience last year on an inter-generatioal program with my grand-daughter.
Ted Raab Aug 29, 2012 at 04:12 PM

I'm sure we are all going to enjoy it and learn a lot. We've never been to Prague or Bratislava, but did enjoy Budapest many years ago. We're going over early and will arrive in Prague the day before the Program starts. Email me back and perhaps we can get further acquainted. BTW, we live in Fort Lauderdale.

Marilyn Regan Aug 20, 2012 at 12:03 AM

I am no longer interested at this time.
