Road Scholar
Program #8577RJ
9 Days | 8 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.
Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

My husband Jim and I are on the Taste of CR in April 16-24. Anyone else signed up for that one?

This is in response to Pat Mitchells's comment. My Costa Rica adventure starts this Fri. 1/16/15. I am sure I will have much to report when I return Palm Desert on 1/24.

Looking forward to our first Road Scholar trip starting 2/19, A Taste of Costa Rica. Hope to meet and make new friends as we have on trips in the past with other companies.

We are arriving early on Jan. 16 and would like to visit the National Theater as this is not on our program. Will anyone else arrive in the morning?

Also, with regards to clothes, I am sensitive to the sun, so I bring long sleeved light weight blouses and also some pants that are lighter weight than jeans when travelling in hot climates - but that is just me. Sometimes long skirts are also cooler.

My husband and I will be arriving a day early for the February program, i.e., on the evening of the 4th. We'll be staying in the program hotel in San Jose. Anyone else coming early who would like to get together?

Looking forward to the January 10th Costa Rica Trip and meeting new people and learning about this wonderful country. Anyone else taking the red eye from LAX Friday night about 11 PM?

Coming from NJ..traveling with a friend. My plan is to sit down today and read through all the RS material that's been sent. I'm sure there's a 'to bring' list somewhere. This is my first group travel experience. Looking forward to meeting you and trying out this kind of travel.

We will be leaving Palm Springs, CA. around 7:30 AM on 1/16. I'm told bug spray and sunscreen are important, also lightweight clothing due to the tropical climate. Looking forward to a great trip.
