Morning: This morning's Field Trip takes us to the British Museum to explore world cultures from Prehistory to the present day.

Afternoon: The Field Trip continues this afternoon to the Guildhall and St. Paul's Cathedral. The Guildhall was the administrative centre of London for over 800 years. Christopher Wren's famous cathedral was built to replace the earlier medieval building which was destroyed in the Great Fire of 1666.

Day Five: Friday, June 13 - The Tower of London/Westminster Abbey and London ...
Breakfast: In hotel dining room.

Morning: This morning's Field Trip takes us to the Tower of London, the City's ancient defensive centre. Built at the behest of William the Conqueror in 1097, the White Tower stands guard over the Thames. Here monarchs, importunate princes and lesser mortals were imprisoned and beheaded. Now best known as the repository of Charles II's magnificent royal regalia - orbs, sceptres, rings and crowns.

Lunch: Is excluded.

Afternoon: This afternoon we will travel by boat along the Thames to Westminster, the centre of British political power, where we will see the Houses of Parliament and maybe hear the chimes of Big Ben. We then continue on to Westminster Abbey before a flight on the London Eye, the ferris wheel built to celebrate the Millennium, which affords spectacular views over the City.

Dinner: Taken out in an historic building such as the George Inn in Southwark.

Evening: This evening the Course Director will lead a coach tour of London by night.

Day Six: Saturday, June 14 - Transfer to the Cotswolds, via Stonehenge and Bat...
Breakfast: In hotel dining room.

Morning: Today's field trip, en route to the Cotswolds, takes us out of London to the Roman spa city of Bath. We visit UNESCO World Heritage Site Stonehenge. Stonehenge now has a transformed visitor experience. A new world- class visitor centre, housing museum-quality permanent and temporary exhibitions is now open. The centre is the first phase of English Heritage's £27million project to transform the visitor experience of this iconic site. For the first time, visitors are being given a propoer introduction to one of the world's most important monuments, with over 250 objects of international importance on display, including the reconstructed face of an early Neolithic man. See Stonehenge emerge slowly on the horizon during teh ten-minute shuttle ride from the visitor centre to the monument,.

Lunch: Packed lunch.

Afternoon: The field trip continues to Bath, where we drive through Georgian Bath en route to our visit to teh well-preserved Roman Baths and Pump Room. We then continue on to village of Mickleton, where we will attend a Welcome Meeting at dinner with your Course Director for the remainder of the programme.

Afternoon: The field trip continues to Hidcote Gardens, a garden created in the Arts & Crafts style by Major Lawrence Johnston. It is arranged as a series of outdoor rooms, each with a different character and separated by walls and hedges of many different species.

Afternoon: Transfer continues with a stop at Farndon Parish Church. Check in at hotel. Welcome to Chester and lecture "Introduction to Snowdonia".

Morning: During a lecture on the coach describing the National Parks of Wales, we will absorb the beautiful scenery of the Snowdonia National Park. The Field Trip then continues on to the impressive medieval Conwy Castle.

Afternoon: After lunch, visit the Welsh Slate Museum in Llanberis to learn about one of the most important industries of Welsh history. Optional walk to the ruins of Dolbadarn Castle.

Morning: We depart today for a full day excusrion to Perthshire with visits to Huntingtower Castle- and Scone Palace, the original home of the Stone of Destiny and the site of the coronations of the Kings of Scotland.

Lunch: Lunch is taken in Scone Palace.

Afternoon: Field trip continues.

Dinner: In hotel dining room.

Evening: Those participants who wish to have the opportunity to visit the Malt Shovel pub.

Morning: We depart early today for our full-day excursion to the Trossachs, some of the most beautiful scenery in Britain and the home of Highland hero Rob Roy, and Loch Lomond.

Lunch: Lunch out in the tea room at the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park.

Afternoon: The excursion continues with a boat ride on stunning Lake Katrine.

Evening: Farewell meeting.
