Your neighborhood walk concludes at El Mercado, the largest Mexican marketplace in the country. Sample a fresh-baked pastry from a panaderia and explore dozens of shops sell everything from hand-embroidered dresses to leather belts. Market Square's working artists, musicians, dancers and major cultural events give El Mercado a rich and lively cultural atmosphere. You may choose to return with your group leader to the hotel, or remain in the marketplace and return the 5-6 blocks to the hotel on your own.
