Description: Set amidst tropical landscaped gardens adjacent to one of Ghana's most popular beaches in the country's administrative, communications and economic centre in Accra, the Labadi Beach Hotel caters for the business and leisure traveller. The hotel has earned itself the reputation of being the most sought after business venue in the country. The hotel enriched its resort status with a plush beachfront facility for its guests. The beach has exotic loungers and offers snacks and assorted drinks, waiter service and permanent security to keep the nuisance factor of the entrepreneurs in check. The beach is mechanically cleaned twice daily with an imported cleaning machine that sifts the sands to remove unwanted debris. This is surely the cleanest sand above the high watermark in Accra. The hotel has a gymnasium which offers the use of the sauna, swimming pool and tennis courts. There are plenty rooms for guests including two Accessible Rooms. From the port of Cotonou, drive to the nearby capital, Porto-Novo, set on green hills surrounding a large lagoon. Formerly the center of an indigenous prosperous kingdom, it later became the capital of the French colony of Dahomey. Explore this pleasant city, including visits to the Ethnography Museum and the restored palace of King Toffa.

Day Eleven: Saturday, February 09 - Luanda, Angola
Breakfast: Breakfast on board the ship

Morning: Arrive in Luanda, Angola's capital, founded by the Portuguese in the late 16th century. Guarding the entrance to the port is the Fortaleza de Sao Miguel, a fortress built in 1576, which we will visit during our time in the city (the fortress now houses a museum) , along with other sites. Alternatively, take a full day excursion to the Kissama National Park, a large area of coastal savannah that is home to a rich wildlife.

Day Twenty: Monday, February 18 - Cape Town / Disembark / Transfer to Hotel
Breakfast: Breakfast on board the ship

Morning: Disembark the ship. Transfer from Cape Town Harbour to Robben Island. From Nelson Mandela Gateway in the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, board a catamaran for the half-hour crossing to Robben Island, which was used as an isolation prison for poltical prisoners. During the crossing, view a video giving you an overview of this island. Take a guided visit of the prison which includes seeing the cell wehre Nelson Mandela spent most of his incarceration.

Lunch: Lunch at the home of a local Bo-Kaap family. Bo-Kaap is multicultural part of Cape Town, rich in history and situated on the slopes of Signal Hill. The area is known for its romantic cobble stoned streets.

Afternoon: After lunch, visit the District Six Museum. District Six is the name of a former inner-city residential area in Cape Town, most known for it's forced removal of 60,000 inhabitants during the 1970's by the apartheid regime. The museum, established in 1994, serves as a remembrance to the events of the apartheid era as well as the culture and history of the area before the removals.
