Morning: Geology lecture followed by a naturalist-lead beach walk in front of the hotel.

Lunch: Lunch is served in the hotel restaurant.

Afternoon: Engaging cooking demonstration with hotel executive chef. Sample resulting seafood delicacies and additional culinary goodies.

Dinner: Dine high above the waves in the hotel restaurant.

Evening: Natural History of the Oregon Coast slide show

Day Three: Tuesday, April 09 - Newport Excursion, Oregon Coast Aquarium, Yaquina Head... 
Newport Excursion, Oregon Coast Aquarium, Yaquina Head Lighthouse,Marine Discovery Boat Tour

Breakfast: Breakfast served in the hotel restaurant.

Morning: Visit the spectacular Oregon Coast Aquarium and learn about the coast's amazing creatures.

Lunch: Lunch at a Newport restaurant.

Afternoon: Yaquina Head Lighthouse and Natural Scenic Area is home to the coast's tallest lighthouse, and the headland surrounding it is home to countless seabirds, sea lions and seals. This outstanding location is one of the most pristine on the west coast. Then board the 65- foot educational/vessel Marine Discovery for a 2-hour boat tour of either the Yaquina Bay estuary, or cruise offshore, depending on weather and seas. Gray Whales will be migrating; sea birds will be coming on shore to nest. There will also be a hands-on crabbing demonstration during the tour. Dungeness crab are in season.

Day Four: Wednesday, April 10 - Lincoln City Culinary Center, Estuary Studies and Walk 
Note: Estuary walk of less than one mile on gravel road.

Breakfast: Breakfast served in the hotel restaurant.

Morning: Watch fascinating video "Estuaries, Treasures of the Oregon Coast". This is an award-winning, locally produced video that explains the importance of our estuaries and explores the industry and natural history of our oysters, clams, crabs and other seafood.

Lunch: Lunch and cooking lesson at the Lincoln City Culinary Center. Chef Sharon Weist is a wonderful teacher as well as superb chef. Sample Oregon wine as you witness a seafood feast created before your eyes in a comfortable setting with magnificent views.

Afternoon: Visit a wilderness estuary and learn about the habitat that fosters much of the coast's life. A short walk amongst massive Sitka Spruce trees will soothe you. A simply beautiful spot!

Dinner: Dine high above the waves in the hotel restaurant.

Evening: A local expert will provide an engaging lecture.

Day Five: Thursday, April 11 - NW Commercial Fisheries Discussions, Oregon Wines lesson and tasting 
Breakfast: Breakfast served in the hotel restaurant.

Morning: First presenter of the day will be the Director of the Albacore Tuna and Salmon Commissions to update the state of those industries Next, a presentation by a former Northwest fisherman on Commercial Fisheries, from the fisherman's perspective. Also, fresh Dungeness crab will be served up for each participant to crack and enjoy!

Lunch: Lunch at the hotel.

Afternoon: Some free time. Then, learn about Oregon's growing wine industry. Discover local wines and taste for yourself what all of the fuss is about.

Dinner: A huge seafood buffet dinner is served in the Fathoms Restaurant. Salmon, halibut, squid, shellfish, crab plus salads and breads and great desserts! Complimentary glass of wine served with your meal.

Evening: Wrap up your time on the coast with your fellow travelers.

Day Six: Friday, April 12 - Departures
