Arrive To: 3:00 - 5:00 pm Arrive at the College Inn for check in. The College Inn is located at 123 East 100 South in St. George, Utah. It is about 6 blocks from the Dixie State University's Campus.

Dinner: 5:30 pm - Transfer to Dixie State University's Red Rock Cafe for a delicious banquet dinner.

Evening: Following dinner we'll have a brief welcome/orientation and overview of our daily activities and itinerary.

Geology field trip and walks in Snow Canyon State Park where you discover formations of red rock/Welcome to Utah's Dixie excursion to restored pioneer buildings and homes

Breakfast: 7:00 - 8:00 am - Enjoy a continental breakfast at the College Inn which includes hard boiled eggs, hot oatmeal, cereal, fruit, yogurt, pastries, toast, milk & juice.

Morning: Travel to Snow Canyon State Park and walk among the red sandstone formations. At Snow Canyon you can explore the natural beauty with scenery of red rock cliffs, rolling mounds of petrified sand dunes and lava (basalt) rock formations.

Lunch: Lunch at Red Rock Cafe. Choose between food stations to include fresh salad bar, sandwich bar, home "cookin", pizza, Asian grill, and BBQ grill.

Afternoon: Welcome to "Utah's Dixie" with Dr. Alder. He will share the human history of St. George and take us on a historic tour of pioneer buildings.

Dinner: 5:30-6:30 PM - Dinner at a local restaurant.

Evening: 7:00 PM - Geology Class in the College Inn Meeting Room. This presentation will give you a greater understanding of the incredible formations we will hike and explore. We will continue to have trail side talks but this class will set the stage for the remaining outings.

Note: -Virgin Riverside trail is 2 miles round trip on groomed trail, no elevation change. -Lower Emerald Pools is a 1.2 mile round trip on groomed trail with 70 ft elevation change. -Middle Emerald Pools is a 2 mile round trip on groomed trail with 150 ft elevation change. -Upper Emerald Pools is a 3 mile round trip on groomed trail with 350 ft elevation change.

Morning: 8:15 am - Check-out and depart for Zion National Park. Geology instructor and group leader go with you as you walk among the rock canyons and formations. Incredible scenery of red rock cliffs and raparian areas. Hike Virgin Riverside Trail.

Lunch: Box lunch on the trail.

Afternoon: Continue hiking and exploring Zion with a trip to Emerald Pool loop.

Dinner: 6:00 - 7:00 pm - Dinner at Switchback Grille with a choice of Honey Pecan Utah Mountain Trout or Spit-Roasted Chicken with assorted side dishes of potatoes, rice, and vegetables.

Evening: 7:30 PM - See up close and personal a live falcon, hawk, and golden eagle. Martin Tyner, a federally licensed eagle falconer, presents "Birds of Prey".

Note: -Echo Canyon is a 4 mile roundtrip on groomed trail with 1,000 ft elevation change. Pa'rus trail is a 1.5 mile one way on groomed trail with 50 ft elevation change.

Breakfast: 7:00 - 8:00 am - Breakfast at Switchback Grille's Canyon Buffet which includes fresh fruit, yogurt, fresh baked goods, bagels, cereal,waffles, eggs, omeletes, french toast, pancakes, smoked bacon, jumbo sausage, breakfast potatoes, Starbuck's coffee, and assorted teas, juice and milk.

Morning: 8:15 AM - Depart for Echo Canyon Hike spectacular deep and dark slot canyon with extravagantly scultured walls, tinged with green moss in many places. The Echo Canyon Trail is the oldest trail out of Zion Canyon. In the late 1890's, Utah pioneer John Winder reworked the existing Paiute foot trail to drive cattle up to the rim. The trail was improved and the Observation Point Trail cut into the side of the mountain in 1925.

Lunch: Box lunch on the trail.

Afternoon: Continue hiking in Echo Canyon. Our final hike of the day will be a short 1.5 mile one way hike on Pa'rus trail.

Dinner: Tonight is dinner on your own. Choose between a variety of small and unique restaurants like Whiptail Grill, Parallel Eighty-Eight, The Spotted Dog Cafe, Pizza and Noodles, and MeMe's to name a few.

Evening: Free evening to relax or do something within the community. One option is to go see the "Treasure of the Gods" Imax movie about Zion on a huge screen.

Note: -Rim trail from Bryce Point to Sunset Point is a 2 mile one way trip on groomed trail with a 300 ft elevation drop. Queens Garden/Navajo Loop Trail is a 3 mile hike with an elevation change of about 500 feet.

Breakfast: 7:00 - 8:00 am - Breakfast at Switchback Grille's Canyon Buffet which includes fresh fruit, yogurt, fresh baked goods, bagels, cereal,waffles, eggs, omeletes, french toast, pancakes, smoked bacon, jumbo sausage, breakfast potatoes, Starbuck's coffee, and assorted teas, juice and milk.

Morning: Bryce Canyon National Park has prominent view points and amazing hiking trails. It is stunning to watch the sun illuminate the hoo doo formations. Geology, hiking and exploring within the fascinating formations of this Canyon is an amazing experience! Our first hike will be 2 miles along the Rim Trail, starting at Bryce Point and ending at Sunset Point.

Lunch: Box lunch on the trail.

Afternoon: Continue exploring Bryce Canyon with a hike down Navajo trail, through Queens Garden and back up to Sunrise point. Check in to Rubys Inn.

Dinner: 6:00 - 7:00 pm - Buffet Dinner at Ruby's Cowboy Buffet & Steak Room including BBQ Beef & Pork Ribs, Baked Chicken, Asian Orange Chicken, Baked Pollock, Cornbread, Soup & Salad.

Evening: Free Time

Note: -Peekaboo Loop trail is a 5.3 mile round trip on groomed trail with 1,000 ft elevation change.

Breakfast: 7:00 - 8:00 am - Breakfast at Ruby's Cowboy Buffet which includes fresh fruit, yogurt, assorted baked goods, cereal, scrambled eggs, french toast, oatmeal, smoked bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, coffee, and assorted teas, juice and milk.

Morning: 8:15 am - Check out and depart for our final hike in Bryce Canyon: Peek-a-Boo Loop Trail.

Lunch: Box lunch on the trail.

Afternoon: Wrap up your adventures at Bryce and depart for St. George.

Dinner: 5:30-6:30 pm - Enjoy a Grand Buffet at Chuck-A-Rama. Choose from a variety of fresh salads, homemade dinner rolls, barbecue ribs, baked or fried chicken, roast beef, sliced turkey breast, mashed potatoes & gravy, peas, green beans, corn, scones, assorted beverages. Save room for dessert, apple pie, cakes, cobbler, brownies, and soft serve ice cream or yogurt.
