Afternoon: Arrive on Jekyll Island, GA and check into the Hampton Inn & Suites. Also, check in with the Road Scholar facilitator and you'll receive a program packet containing your name tag, most up-to-date schedule, and other helpful information.

Dinner: Dinner will be at the historic Jekyll Island Club. The Club Hotel is Jekyll Island's only four-star resort and National Historic Landmark. Enjoy elegant surroundings and simple pleasures. Its impressive members included such luminaries as J.P. Morgan, William Rockefeller, Vincent Astor, Joseph Pulitzer, William K. Vanderbilt, and other recognizable names on the roster were Macy, Goodyear and Gould.

Evening: Orientation will take place in the hotels conference room discussing program details and activities. It’s time to start discovering why bridge is a famous game. We’ll give you a little overview of what you can expect over the next few days.

Breakfast: Choose from a variety of delicious breakfast items at the Hampton Inn’s Hot Breakfast Bar, including: freshly made waffles, hearty oatmeal with toppings, and enjoy all the juice or coffee you can drink. Muffins, Danish, bagels, yogurt and fresh fruit are always available. Seasonal items may vary from day to day.

Morning: Advancing bridge class is taught by an Emerald Life Master. Today's Instruction titled: "Cooperative Honors - Evaluation" learn the use of evaluation. These techniques will help perfect your bidding.

Lunch: A healthy lunch will we served at the hotel.

Afternoon: Bridge tourney with your new friends. After the tourney (on your own) take a stroll along the boardwalk from the pool area to the beach, appreciating the protected ancient oak trees of the Maritime Forest along the way.

Dinner: Enjoy a plated dinner served at the hotel.

Evening: Meet in the conference room for supervised play. During the evenings free-play participants will get a chance to discover how todays lesson benefits their play. Your instructor will be on hand to answer questions.

General OverviewJekyll Island's Historic District has several speciality shops as well as the Jekyll Island Club Hotel, once the clubhouse for many of America's elite business men. Other areas of interest located near Jekyll Island are St. Simons Island, home to several historic places including Fort Frederica, Bloody Marsh Battle site, etc. There are also other interesting islands located near Jekyll Island including Sapelo Island where you will find a plantation once owned by R. J. Reynolds and Cumberland Island home to many wild horses. Other areas of interest near Jekyll Isalnd include Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation, an old rice plantation and Brunswick Georgia which has many historic buildings and landmarks as well as several antique shops. Jekyll Island is located approximately one hour south of Historic Savannah Georgia.
