Afternoon: Register for rooms after 3:30 PM. Register for your Road Scholar and get your program information folder from 3:00 - 5:00 PM in the Red Fox Lounge. Enjoy a before-dinner social hour from 5:00 - 6:00 pm in the Red Fox lounge. This is a great opportunity to meet your coordinator and fellow participants.

Day Four: Wednesday, April 17 - Morning class/Free afternoon
Breakfast: Breakfast in the hotel

Morning: Class: The Civil War in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley

Lunch: Lunch in the hotel

Afternoon: Your time is your own after lunch. There's a lot to explore at Natural Bridge, including the Caverns, the Zoo (a small but excellent zoo), the Wax Museum, or paths to walk. You might also want to drive to the historic town of Lexington, only 15 minutes from Natural Bridge, to visit the bookstores, shops and ice cream parlors in town or the George C. Marshall Museum at VMI (the Virginia Military Institute) and the Stonewall Jackson House. Please note: Tomorrow's field trip will visit the Stonewall Jackson cemetery and the Lee Chapel and Museum on the grounds of Washington and Lee University, but there is still much to see in this small town.

Dinner: Dinner in the hotel

Evening: Tonight is a free evening, and it's the perfect opportunity to experience the "Drama of Creation," a one-hour laser light and music show that takes place at the Bridge after dusk.

Day Five: Thursday, April 18 - Field trip to Shenandoah Valley Civil War battles...
Field trip to Shenandoah Valley Civil War battlesites/the Hall of Valor Museum/the Lee Chapel and Museum/Evening entertainment

Breakfast: Breakfast in the hotel

Morning: We depart at 9:00 AM for our field trip to Civil War battlesites in the Valley. With our instructor on board, we'll travel by coach/van to battlefield sites at Harrisonburg, Port Republic and New Market. We'll also visit the Hall of Valor Civil War Museum.

Lunch: Picnic lunch on the grounds of the Hall of Valor Museum

Afternoon: Our field trips continues. We'll investigate the Lee Chapel and Museum and the Stonewall Jackson Cemetery in Lexington before returning to the hotel in late afternoon.

Dinner: Dinner in the hotel

Evening: A relaxing and delightful evening of traditional music for your enjoyment.
