Day Five: Wednesday, May 15 - Segovia/El Escorial 
Breakfast: Breakfast at the hotel restaurant.

Morning: Field trip to Segovia and El Escorial (60 miles outside Madrid). In Segovia the Roman presence is evident in the stunning aqueduct, a marvel of engineering. The Romanesque churches have an architectural style unique to the city, and the cathedral is an example of late Gothic construction. Visit to the Alcázar.

Lunch: Lunch at a restaurant in Segovia.

Afternoon: We stop at El Escorial monastery for a visit of the political center of King Philip II and a pantheon for Spanish royalty, on our way back to Madrid. Late afternoon arrival at the hotel.

Morning: Depart Granada for Seville (160 miles), stopping in Córdoba (at the 125 mile mark), the crossroads of civilizations, where we will explore the largest mosque outside the Arab world and visit a Jewish synagogue.

Afternoon: Afternoon arrival in Seville, check-in at the hotel for orientation and a walking tour of the city center.

Morning: Explore Seville's Fine Arts Museum, home to works by Zurbarán, Velázquez and more.

Afternoon: Afternoon class on the culture of the city of Seville, where we will explore the history and traditions rooted deep in her streets.

Breakfast: Breakfast at the hotel restaurant.

Morning: Enjoy a morning of leisure time in Seville.

Lunch: Lunch at the hotel restaurant.

Afternoon: Afternoon lecture and hands-on demonstration of the history, culture and art of flamenco dance and music.

Dinner: Dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Evening: See flamenco come alive at an intimate show at a local "tablao".

Day Sixteen: Sunday, May 26 - Itálica/Farewell Lunch 
Breakfast: Breakfast at the hotel restaurant.

Morning: Depart by private coach bus to Itálica (8 miles), the impressive Roman ruins outside Seville and birthplace to two Roman emperors. Following, visit a typical bull ranch and learn about the Spanish tradition of raising bulls for the bullring.

Lunch: Farewell lunch at the bull ranch.

Afternoon: Late afternoon arrival in Seville.

Dinner: Dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Day Seventeen: Monday, May 27 - Departure
