Lunch: Lunch in the hotel dining area from 12:00 until 12:45 PMAfternoon: At 12:45 PM, the bus will leave from the front of the hotel for a scenic trip to Santa Clara Pueblo (visit at 1:45 PM) and the shop/residence of Paul and Rosalda Speckled Rock.
After the visit to Santa Clara, you'll travel to Chimayo, a northern New Mexico village settled in 1731.
Visit El Santuario de Chimayo (no later than 3:30 PM), known as the "Lourdes" of northern New Mexico, and a nearby weaving center.Dinner: Dinner at Rancho de Chimayo.
This restaurant is an old family restaurant, and one of the most popular in the northern New Mexico area.
You'll choose from a limited menu with at least one vegetarian choice.

You'll continue on for a visit to the Ernest Blumenschein Home. The home is maintained much as it was when the artist and his family were alive. It's filled with a superb collection of the family's art, a representative sampling of works by other famous Taos artists, antiques, and the family's lifetime of personal possessions.
There will be some free time on Taos Plaza following the visit.Lunch: Lunch at Antonio's: A Taste of MexicoAfternoon: After lunch, we'll visit Taos Pueblo (if the Pueblo is open. The Pueblo closes at certain times during the year,and no one is exactly sure when that will be except the tribal elders -- and they don't consult with us in advance! -- and for funerals and special ceremonial events. If it's open, we'll definitely take you there.) You'll have a Native American guide to show you around.
Continue on to the Millicent Rogers Museum. The Museum presents a remarkable collection of Native American jewelry, pottery, rugs, baskets, and art, beautifully displayed.
The bus will then take you to view the Rio Grande Gorge, a deep canyon formed by the Rio Grande as it flowed, over the centuries, through the area. The rock striations are lovely, and somewhat reminiscent of the Grand Canyon.

At 3:00 PM, the bus will take you back to the hotel. This will give you enough time to change clothes (if you wish) for the evening concert and dinner.
At 4:15 PM, bus departs the hotel to travel to downtown Santa Fe. You'll be attending a concert at the beautiful Lensic Performing Arts Center, provided by the Santa Fe Concert Association.
This year's concert features works by Leonard Bernstein, performed by the Santa Fe Concert Association Orchestra and the Harlem String Quartet.
The bus will depart for dinner destination after the concert. Dinner: Dinner at a local restaurantEvening: The bus will leave the restaurant after dinner, and will take you back to the hotel, where you'll toast to the New Year with sparkling wine and some dessert treats from about 9:15-10:30 PM.

At 9:30 AM, bus will depart for Santo Domingo Pueblo and the New Year's Day dances. Bus will return at approximately 1:00 PM. Lunch: Lunch in the hotel dining area from 1:00-2:00 PM.
The hotel will be serving a special "tamale" lunch. Tamales are a traditional New Mexico holiday dish. This will be a treat guaranteed to take the chill from your bones!Afternoon: 2:00-3:30 PM will be reserved for rest time, so you can recuperate from New Year's Eve and the morning's field trip.
From 3:30-4:30 PM enjoy a class about the music of the Southwest, taught by Native American professional musician and scholar, Ronald Roybal. Ron has won many awards for his original compositions and carefully researched collection of traditional Native American music. He's a fascinating speaker and a fine singer, guitarist, and player of the Native American flute.Dinner: Bus departs at 5:30 PM for dinner at Blue Corn Cafe, scheduled from 6:00-7:30 PM.
One drink per person is provided: beer, house wine, or a house margarita plus chips and salsa. If you wish to have more alcoholic beverages, it must be on your own.
