Breakfast: Breakfast in the hotel dining room.

Morning: Attend a lecture, in the Queen Mary room on the second floor, and learn about the history of Boston, followed by a guided bus excursion of Boston. Transfer to Gloucester.

Lunch: Enjoy a traditional New England clambake in Gloucester.

Afternoon: Explore the Rocky Neck art colony with a local guide. Rocky Neck artist colony, where many of America's foremost late 19th and 20th century artists spent their summers, is currently undergoing a revival. Explore twelve sites that are associated with famous artists, from Winslow Homer to Edward Hopper and Marsden Hartley. Transfer to Gloucester harbor and embark the Yorktown at 4:00 PM. Late afternoon embarkation briefing, introduction of ship staff, and safety drill. Enjoy a Road Scholar champagne toast.

Breakfast: Breakfast onboard.

Morning: Arrive in Bar Harbor for an early excursion to Acadia National Park. Disembark by tender and board the trolleys for a drive along the scenic Loop Road, stopping at Sieur de Mont, Thunder Hole and, weather permitting, a stop at Cadillac Mountain.

Lunch: Enjoy a traditional Maine "Lobster Bake" lunch in town.

Afternoon: This afternoon, transfer to the Abbe Museum which features Native American art and culture; current exhibits include contemporary art and ‘Next Generation’ basketry as well as details of on-going archaeological efforts.

Breakfast: Breakfast onboard.

Morning: Dock at the charming fishing port of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Depart the ship for a scenic drive along the coast to Cape Forchu Light Station, built in 1839. Return to town through the heritage district to discover historic Victorian homes built during the city’s golden age. Arrive at the Yarmouth County Museum to explore its more than 20,000 artifacts detailing the history of Nova Scotia. Just next door is the well preserved Victorian home of Alfred C. Fuller, the original Fuller Brush-man.

Morning: Enjoy a full day to explore a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lunenburg was once the busiest shipbuilding town in the world and continues to preserve its distinctive architecture and maritime tradition. Begin with a guided walking excursion through the historic district then explore the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic to learn more about life and industry in coastal North America.

Day Seven: Saturday, June 15 - Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada 
Breakfast: Breakfast onboard.

Morning: A panoramic coach excursion through the streets of Halifax passes historic buildings and landmarks including Province House, the oldest provincial Parliament building still in use in Canada and the Old Town Clock commissioned by Prince Edward, Duke of Kent in 1800 to help cure the chronic tardiness among the local garrison. Continue to St. Paul’s Church and the Fairlawn Cemetery where many victims of the Titanic disaster were laid to rest. Finish the excursion with a stop at the Citadel National Historic Site.

After breakfast, disembark and drive along the picturesque Blue Heron Drive to the Prince Edward Island National Park. Visit the celebrated Anne of Green Gables Homestead and the charming fishing village of Rustico.

Day Eleven: Wednesday, June 19 - Gaspé, Quebec, Canada / Perce / Ile Bonaventure 
Breakfast: Breakfast onboard.

Morning: Arrive in Gaspé this morning and transfer to the town of Percé to board a local boat for our excursion to the National Park of Bonaventure. Cruise along Percé Rock or Pierced Rock, named for the 66 foot archway on the seaward side of this massive limestone formation. Continue to Ile Bonaventure which supports a bird sanctuary of the largest concentration of migratory Northern Gannets on the continent.

Breakfast: Breakfast onboard.

Morning: At sea. Enjoy the ship’s amenities and attend lectures prepared by our study leaders as the ship sails along the St. Lawrence and briefly enters the Saguenay River, an important trade route in the interior for the First Nations people.

Lunch: Lunch onboard.

Afternoon: The stretch of water from the gulf of the St. Lawrence to just past the Saguenay River provides a sanctuary for many marine mammals including porpoise, dolphin, seal and more than 13 species of whales.

Day Thirteen: Friday, June 21 - Quebec City, Quebec, Canada 
Breakfast: Breakfast onboard.

Morning: Arrive at the Old Port of Quebec City and depart by bus to the historic Lower Town for a guided walking excursion of the historic district. Explore Place Royale and the remains of Champlain’s first and second habitation and Rue Petit Champlain, the oldest commercial district in North America. Continue on an orientation drive seeing historic landmark sites such as the Western Wall, the Parliament Building, Citadel and the Plains of Abraham, site of an important battle in the Seven Year War for control of New France. Weather permitting debark the bus at Grande Alleé for a stroll on the Dufferin Terrace and views of the St. Lawrence River and Lower Town. Continue to the Governors Garden, the cathedral and the courtyard of the Seminary of Quebec.

Afternoon: Enjoy some free time before the Yorktown departs Quebec City in the late afternoon.

Morning: Disembark Yorktown and enjoy a guided excursion of Montreal. A stroll through a maze of narrow lanes and old buildings provide a perfect opportunity to discover Old Montreal's history and charm. Enjoy an excursion to the Notre-Dame Basilica and a guided coach excursion of Mont-Royal to view a panoramic view of the city. Your luggage will be transported from the ship to your hotel.

Lunch: Road Scholar lunch in a local restaurant.

Afternoon: After lunch, explore the Olympic Tower and Biodome before enjoying some free time.

Dinner: Meet at 6:30 PM in the hotel lobby to depart via coach to a local restaurant for the Farewell Dinner.
