While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.
Close [ x ]
Easy
For people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
Moderate
These programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
Active
For people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately Challenging
For hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
Challenging
Get ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

- Meet the Volunteer Director / Music Director Visit / Evening Concert
Breakfast:
Breakfast in the hotel restaurant.
Morning:
There are only two full time staff members at the Peninsula Music Festival. Without the help of over 100 volunteers, the Peninsula Music Festival would not take place. Founded by and run by volunteers for its first 38 years of existence, the Festival is a model for successful volunteer management. Ms. Challoner Brown, president of the volunteer committee for the Peninsula Music Festival, will share her insight on how the Festival comes together each year with the hard work of the volunteers. From serving lunch to the orchestra to picking up guest artists at the airport, to finding belts, bow ties or white jackets to replace ones that have been left behind. Our volunteers have done it all, seen it all and heard it all!
Lunch:
Lunch in the hotel restaurant.
Afternoon:
In the afternoon Maestro Yampolsky will come to the resort to talk about his role in the process. What does he do and how does he do it? How does the Music Director work with the management of the Orchestra to program and prepare a season of music? Does an orchestra really follow and/or need the conductor? Maestro Yampolsky is a dynamic speaker and sure to delight the participants.
Dinner:
Dinner in the hotel restaurant.
Evening:
PENINSULA MUSIC FESTIVAL CONCERT. Board our motor coach for a quick trip to Fish Creek. Anna Burden makes her first PMF solo appearance in the Prokofiev "Sinfonia Concertante" which was first performed at the Festival in 1989 with Wendy Warner, cello and most recently in 2000 with Mark Kosower. Rachmaninoff's "Vocalise" was first heard at the PMF in 1990 and most recently in 2004. Tonight's concert closes with Mussorgsky's "Pictures at An Exhibition," orchestrated by Ravel, in it's second PMF performance, having been first heard at PMF in 2001. Victor Yampolsky conducts.
