Day Two: Saturday, October 10 - Arrival in Barcelona / Orientation
Note: Your Group Leader will provide you with 2 T10 travel passes which will include 20 metro or local bus journeys and can be used on any day of your stay in Barcelona. You will also be given full information and assistance on how to successfully use public transport in your free time.

Arrive To: Upon arrival at the Barcelona airport, please make your own way to the program hotel. Your Group leader will be waiting to welcome you and help with your check-in. Please note that as a general rule, rooms are normally available beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Lunch: On your own to explore local cuisine.

Afternoon: After check in, there will be an optional group orientation walk of the area with your Group Leader as you get your first taste of the city of Barcelona. Later in the afternoon, we will gather in the hotel conference room where the Group Leader will greet everyone with a warm welcome and lead introductions. In addition to the program theme and logistics, we will review the up-to-date daily schedule and any changes, discuss responsibilities, safety guidelines, emergency procedures, and answer any questions you may have. Please be aware that indicated times are approximate and that program activities and schedules could change due to local circumstances. In the event of changes, we will alert you as quickly as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

Dinner: Enjoy the welcome dinner at a local restaurant where you will have the opportunity to socialize and get to know your fellow participants.

Day Three: Sunday, October 11 - Museo de Historia de Catalunya, Barcelona Landmar...
Note: Today's activities include approximately two miles of walking and standing in museums as well as extensive use of metro. Please note that many metro stops do not have elevators and participants will be required to climb up and down stairs in and around the metro stations.

Breakfast: Buffet at the hotel.

Morning: Transfer by public bus to the auditorium at the Museu D'Història De Catalunya where there will be a lecture focusing on the history of Catalonia. Afterward, enjoy some free time to visit the museum on your own.

Lunch: On your own to explore local cuisine.

Afternoon: An orientation drive around the city introduces some of Antoni Gaudí’s most important works of architecture in the Eixample (the extension area of Barcelona) and the most important sights and landmarks of Barcelona. Afterward, enjoy a guided visit to the Park Güell.

Dinner: Meet your group leader and fellow participants at the hotel lounge for a drink, followed by a Q&A session with local professionals from Barcelona, before going to dinner on your own.

Day Four: Monday, October 12 - La Sagrada Familia & Modernism
Note: Today's activities include approximately two miles of walking and standing in museums as well as extensive use of metro. Please note that many metro stops do not have elevators and participants will be required to climb up and down stairs in and around the metro stations.

Breakfast: Buffet at the hotel.

Morning: We will transfer by public bus or metro to La Sagrada Familia and enjoy an expert-led lecture focusing on Gaudí's architectural masterpiece, "The Sagrada Family" Temple.

Lunch: On your own to explore local cuisine.

Afternoon: Join your Group Leader for a discovery of the other Modernism buildings in the Eixample district--a perfect opportunity for detailed pictures. Alternatively, you may choose to continue your Gaudí experience with a visit on your own of La Pedrera/Casa Mila or the newly renovated Casa Lleo i Morera.

Dinner: Meet your Group Leader and fellow participants at the hotel lounge for a drink. It will be an opportunity to relax while sharing your day's experiences and exchanging ideas and tips for the following day, as well as getting ideas for your dinner on your own this evening.

Day Five: Tuesday, October 13 - Discover Las Ramblas, The Most Famous Street in B...
Note: Today's activities include approximately two miles of walking and standing in museums as well as extensive use of metro. Please note that many metro stops do not have elevators and participants will be required to climb up and down stairs in and around the metro stations.

Breakfast: Buffet at the hotel.

Morning: Depart via public transport with your Group Leader for a walk along Barcelona's most well-known street, Las Ramblas, going past the Place Real. Finish the morning with a discovery of la Boqueria market.

Lunch: Create a picnic lunch from the specialties you will have gathered at the market or enjoy a meal at a nearby café on your own.

Afternoon: You may choose to stay around Las Ramblas and explore with your Group Leader the hidden treasures of Barcelona's most famous street or consider visiting either the MACBA (Contemporary Art Museum) or Palau de la Música on your own. Your Group Leader will provide information and assistance.

Dinner: On your own to explore local cuisine.

Evening: We will transfer by coach to a local community center for an exclusive viewing of Esbart San Marti's dress rehearsal featuring traditional Catalan folk song and dances, and a chance to meet the performers afterwards.

Day Six: Wednesday, October 14 - Contemporary Artists from Spain / Pablo Picasso
Note: Today's activities include approximately two miles of walking and standing in museums as well as extensive use of metro. Please note that many metro stops do not have elevators and participants will be required to climb up and down stairs in and around the metro stations.

Breakfast: Buffet at the hotel.

Morning: Attend a lecture at the hotel led by an art expert focusing on contemporary artists from Spain: Picasso, Dali, and Miró who contributed to the richness of Barcelona's history and culture.

Lunch: At a local restaurant.

Afternoon: We will transfer by public transport to the Picasso Museum where you will learn more about Picasso as you take a firsthand look at some of the artist's masterpieces during a guided visit. Afterward, join your Group Leader for a walking discovery of El Born Quarter - a lively area with its artists, cafes, and craft. Alternatively, you may choose to visit one of the city's many museums on your own. Your Group Leader will offer assistance.

Dinner: Meet your Group Leader and fellow participants at the hotel lounge for a drink before going to dinner on your own.

Day Seven: Thursday, October 15 - Explore the Hidden Treasures of Gothic Quarter
Note: Today's activities include approximately two miles of walking and standing in museums as well as extensive use of metro. Please note that many metro stops do not have elevators and participants will be required to climb up and down stairs in and around the metro stations.

Breakfast: Buffet at the hotel.

Morning: Transfer by local bus or metro for a walking exploration of the Barri Gòtic (Gothic Quarter) with a local expert and discover some hidden treasures such as: the Plaza Felipe Neri, the Roman Columns, and Plaza del Pi. As we discover the Gothic Quarter, our expert will recommend some cafes where you can try local specialties for lunch on your own.

Lunch: On your own to explore local cuisine.

Afternoon: Enjoy some free time to explore Barcelona at your own pace. Perhaps choose to visit the Miró foundation on your own. Your Group Leader will be available to provide assistance.

Dinner: Meet your Group Leader and fellow participants at the hotel lounge for a drink before going to dinner on your own.

Morning: With a local expert, explore modern Barcelona. Take a look at the changes of the city, modern architecture, and discover the Barcelona of the 21st century. While visiting the 22@ area and Poblenou, learn about the new architects working in the city.

Lunch: On your own to explore local cuisine.

Afternoon: Discover new places and sites in Barcelona on your own or take some time to prepare for your trip back home the following day.

Dinner: Enjoy a nice farewell dinner with your fellow participants at a local restaurant.
