View the Parliament building, which once used to be a stronghold for the nobles living on Toompea Hill. Visit the most dominating building on the square – Alexander Nevski Cathedral, a Russian Orthodox church built in the style of Moscow churches of the 17th century and decorated with mosaics and icons. Peek inside and see an example of an orthodox sacral building. Walk a short distance to reach a viewing point that offers a beautiful view over the Lower Old Town with its dwelling houses, towers, churches and spires rising above the cluster of red-tiled roofs. The tour will continue by taking you to the Lower Old Town. Passing to the Long Street you will see the simple, yet eye-catching façade of the Holy Ghost Church with its only external ornament - the oldest public clock in town. Opposite stands the building of the Great Guild of Merchants, members of which could also become members of the ruling body – the town council. Stop at the Town Hall Square which is inarguably the heart of the old town and the center of Tallinn’s network of medieval streets. The old town of Tallinn is on the list of Unesco World Heritage sites as a living museum. View the Town Hall building, completed in 1404, and preserved almost fully intact in its original Gothic form. Here the town rulers used to gather, make important decisions, and pass legislation. Day Eleven: Sunday, August 24 - Stockholm, Sweden
Breakfast: Breakfast at leisure aboard the ship.

Morning: Depart the pier for Fjällgatan. From this street, you will have a splendid panoramic view over the capital of Sweden, including the older parts as well as the more modern. Stockholm was built on 14 islands beginning more than a thousand years ago. Gamla Stan, where the first stockholmers settled, is situated between the Baltic Sea on the east and Lake Mälaren on the west. You will then cross Lake Mälaren on Västerbron, which is one of the major bridges in Stockholm. You leave the island of Södermalm, and enter the island of Kungsholmen. On the drive we pass the City Hall, renowned for its architecture and for being the site of the annual Nobel Prize Banquet in December. Our next stop will be the historic island of Riddarholmen, where you have a stunning view over Lake Mälaren and the City Hall. Next you will embark on a narrated walking tour of Gamla Stan, strolling the narrow, cobbled streets. You will witness buildings from medieval times and hear of the people who long ago lived in this part of Stockholm, which today is considered a very fashionable place. Now the Vasa Museum awaits us, specifically built to house the oldest fully preserved ship in the world. The warship Vasa was the pride of ancient Sweden’s navy, although it sailed for less than 30 minutes on her maiden trip on August 10th, 1628. The ship was so tall and thin that the wind caught her sails and toppled the ship, which sank almost immediately and then stayed in the mud of the Stockholm harbor for 333 years before she was raised in 1961. After a guided tour of the museum, you will have time to explore the museum’s other exhibits and displays of historic items. Over 12,000 artifacts were recovered together with the ship.
