Within its 316 acres/128 hectares, Las Cabezas offers an impressive representation of seven different ecological systems including coral reefs, beaches, lagoons, mangroves and dry forest. The preserve is home to many endangered species and features a 19th century lighthouse known as "El Faro de las Cabezas de San Juan." The lighthouse, which has been beautifully restored by the Conservation Trust, features an information center and observation deck, providing breathtaking views of El Yunque.
