6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Breakfast: Breakfast will be served in a banquet room assigned by the hotel.

Morning: San Diego Zoo

Coach to the San Diego Zoo.

Lunch: Lunch is on your own at one of the dining venues in the Zoo or in adjacent Balboa Park.

Afternoon: More San Diego Zoo

A perfect opportunity this afternoon to explore one of the largest, most progressive zoos in the world with over 4,000 animals with more than 800 species. Exhibits are often designed around a particular habitat. The same exhibit features many different animals that can be side-by-side in the wild, along with their native horticulture. Exhibits range from the African rain forest (featuring gorillas) to the Arctic tiaga and tundra in the summertime (featuring polar bears). Some of the largest free-flight aviaries in existence are here.

Many exhibits are "natural" within visible wires and darkened blinds (to view birds), and pools and open-air motes (for large mammals). The cool, sunny maritime climate is well suited to many plants and animals. The zoo maintains its grounds as an arboretum, with a rare plant collection. The zoo raises 40 varieties of bamboo for its pandas on long-term loan from China, and it maintains 18 varieties of eucalyptus trees to feed its koalas.

At the conclusion of day's activities at the San Diego Zoo, the coach will return the group to the hotel.

Dinner: Dinner will be served in a banquet room assigned by the hotel.

Evening: This evening focuses on the Courtyard's heated pool and spa. Students from San Diego State University will be on hand to invite the children to frolic in the hotel's pool. For those not inclined to "test the waters," a DVD or another activity may be offered.
