Day Three: Wednesday, March 19 - Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens, Delray Beac...
Breakfast: At the hotel.

Morning: Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. The memory of the small Yamato Colony, a Japanese farming community that was established in 1905 in Palm Beach County, lives on with the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. It is named after the last settler of the colony, who graciously donated the land to Palm Beach County to repay a debt that he felt he owed to his adopted country. Today the museum and gardens are the center of Japanese arts and culture in South Florida. We will explore its six unique gardens inspired by different periods and styles of Japanese gardening. The museum retraces the history of the Yamato Colony, presents a Bonsai display, and has other world class exhibits.

At the conclusion of the field trip, we will hop aboard the motorcoach and drive a few miles to Atlantic Avenue for lunch.

Lunch: At a local restaurant, choose from a select sandwich menu.

Afternoon: Delray Beach. Leaving the restaurant, we begin a walk along bustling Atlantic Avenue, the re-awakened “main street" of All-American city Delray Beach. The renaissance of this classic Florida beach town has generated a lively vernacular art scene, best appreciated on foot under the canopy of subtropical vegetation and in the shadow of historic buildings.

Dinner: At the hotel.

Evening: At leisure.
