Room amenities: Our hotel rooms offer two queen sized beds with linens, a private shower bath, and individual climate controlled heating and air conditioning. Each room has a sliding glass door that opens onto a small porch with chairs to lounge in while taking in the sights of the lakes and woods. Our cabins offer rooms with twin sized beds with linens, private shower, and individual climate controlled heating and air conditioning. Each room has a sliding glass door that opens onto a large deck with lots of seating to watch the sunset on one of our lakes. On Wednesday, our guests will have the option of changing our their towels for a fresh set. There is no housekeeping provided during the week's program.

Facility amenities: Home-cooked meals, laundry facilities, lakes for fishing, walking trails, and RV spots. Wireless internet is available in the lounge as well as our dining and meeting rooms.

Day Two: Monday, February 24 - Tour Micanopy Museum and take a stroll into the q...
Tour Micanopy Museum and take a stroll into the quaint and quiet downtown of Micanopy. After lunch, enjoy a presentation by the Micanopy Regulars Soldiers. Cap off the day by exploring Marjorie K Rawlings home with a presentation by the docent there.

Note: Half a mile walk (round trip) between Micanopy museum and downtown where lunch will be. Bus is provided if needed.

Breakfast: Dining Hall

Morning: Visit the historical town of Micanopy. We will spend the morning in the Historical Museum exploring treasures from the past and hearing a presentation from the docent about the historic town. We will walk to lunch while getting a tour of Main Street Micanopy.

Lunch: Old Florida Cafe

Afternoon: After lunch we will head back to the Historical Museum for a presentation by the Micanopy Regulars. These Soldiers will take our group back in time to the fort where they served/ Continue our step back in time as you tour the oldest continual working post office on the east coast - be sure to bring change for a stamp. Your time travel continues as you see Marjorie K. Rawlings home presented by guides dressed in period piece. See, feel and hear what it was like to be North-Central Florida during her times.

Dinner: Dining Hall

Evening: The Yearling is a movie that shows in wonderful detail and puts on video what we have seen and talked about today.

Day Three: Tuesday, February 25 - Author, Artist, Inventor, and Storyteller JT Glis...
Author, Artist, Inventor, and Storyteller JT Glissen will fill our imaginations with tales of growing up in Cracker Country Florida next to Marjorie K Rawlings. In the afternoon enjoy free day options or stay on site and relax in the rocking chairs.

Note: Transportation is not provided to and from free afternoon activities.

Breakfast: Dining Hall

Morning: Enjoy stories of Marjorie Rawlings from someone who lived by her and who knew her. JT Glissen is a writer, speaker, artist, and inventor. This is truly one of the best storytellers who does a wonderful job of tying together the things you have seen.

Lunch: Dining Hall

Afternoon: A variety of off or on site activities to help you see the beauty and variety of North-Central Florida.

Dinner: Dining Hall- option to opt out if your off afternoon activity keeps you away.

Evening: David Beede performs a lyrical history of folk music with a number of unique, hand-made instruments that replicate ancient instruments.

Day Four: Wednesday, February 26 - Spend the morning getting hands on at Morningside...
Spend the morning getting hands on at Morningside Nature Center, a living and working 1860s farm. In the afternoon, at La Chua Trail, learn about the Alachua County Sink and aquifer system while getting up close with over 50 alligators.

Note: The farm and the La Chua Trail require walking. Benches and tables are available at both locations. La Chua Trail begins around a quarter of a mile from the bus lot, with an optional 2 mile round trip walk to an observation tower.

Breakfast: Dining Hall

Morning: Participants travel back in time to the year 1860 and experience life on a Florida Farm. At Morningside Nature Center we will get a chance to experience what it was like to be at work a farm in Florida's early years.

Lunch: Box Lunch

Afternoon: Over 20 distinct biological communities provide a rich array of habitats for wildlife, including alligators, bison, wild horses and over 270 species of birds exist inside Paynes Prairie.

Dinner: Dining Hall

Evening: Play trivia based on information you learned during the week.

Day Five: Thursday, February 27 - The best of St. Augustine all in one day. Visit O...
The best of St. Augustine all in one day. Visit Oldest House, Lightner Museum, Memorial Church and Flagler College. If you have been multiple times or never before, you will be intrigued by the new information you learn.

Note: Bus transportation provided between each location, but walking is available. The St. Augustine Museums require walking and standing, there will be benches along the way though. Some stairs involved but elevators are available.

Breakfast: Dining Hall

Morning: We start our day by enjoying the magnificence of one of Henry Flager's finest hotels, the Ponce de Leon. Enjoy the architectural beauty of this building as well as the amazement of the sanctuary built as a memorial to Henry Flagler's loved ones. We will then travel to the old Alcazar Hotel, which is now the Lightner Museum and explore the amazing collection of Tiffany glass, scientific artifacts, beautiful antiques and much more.

Lunch: We will enjoy a lunch provided by Montgomery Center in the Fellowship Hall of Memorial Presbyterian Church. After lunch we will tour the Sanctuary which was built by Henry Flagler.

Afternoon: We will then visit the Oldest House. Take a trip into pre-colonial times as you see how water was filtered, food stored, and how the Spanish and then the English lived.

Dinner: Dining Hall

Evening: Cross Creek is a movie that further shows the life and times of Marjorie K. Rawlings in Northern Florida.

JT Glissen will be back to give us a few more stories about Marjorie K Rawlings and growing up in rural Florida. Program concludes after one last delicious lunch.

Morning: J.T. Glisson returns to tie the week together with his wonderful stories.

Lunch: Lunch in the Dining Hall. Program ends immediately after lunch.
