See our Small Group programs.
Close [ x ]
Easy
For people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
Moderate
These programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
Active
For people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately Challenging
For hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
Challenging
Get ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Salt Pond/ Coast Guard Station and Nauset Light Beach/ First Encounter Beach
Breakfast:
Buffet breakfast in hotel dining room.
Morning:
Your day begins with a field trip to the Salt Pond Visitor’s Center to view exhibits and learn how this pristine seashore came to be. Afterwards, enjoy an excursion to the Coast Guard Station and Nauset Light Beach. Here begins an unbroken 40-mile stretch of beach extending to Provincetown, the “Cape Cod Beach,” of Thoreau’s 1865 classic Cape Cod. The much-photographed Nauset Light tops the bluffs where the “Three Sisters” lighthouses once stood. Don't miss the opportunity to dip your toes in the water before we head back.
Lunch:
Lunch on your own at a local restaurant.
Afternoon:
On the return trip to the Inn, we stop at the First Encounter Beach, a great spot for watching sunsets. Near the parking lot is a bronze marker commemorating the first encounter between the local Indians and the passengers from the Mayflower, led by captain Myles Standish, who explored the entire area for five weeks before deciding to move onto Plymouth.
