Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

The 125th Rose Parade presented by Honda, themed "Dreams Come True", will take place Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, at 8 a.m. (PST), featuring spirited marching bands from throughout the nation, majestic floral floats, and high-stepping equestrian units. From bus, walk includes 80' elevation loss in first .7 mile. The terrain is level for the next mile of Float Viewing. Return to bus includes 80' elevation gain in last .7 mile. Allow twice as much time to get back up the hill as it takes to go down. Walking distance is determined by interest level and ability. No benches in Post Parade area.

Breakfast: Breakfast at hotel

Morning: FIELD TRIP TO THE POST-PARADE SHOWCASE OF FLOATS

After every Rose Parade, the floral masterpieces are parked along Sierra Madre and Washington Boulevards in Pasadena and exhibited for visitors to walk by and see in close detail the design and workmanship that goes into these floats. Visitors are able to walk almost within arm's reach of the floats and appreciate for themselves the creativity and the imagination of the floral displays. This has been a Pasadena tradition for over 100 years. Don't forget your camera!

Afternoon: HOTEL CHECK OUT: Our program concludes when we return to the hotel at approximately 11:00AM. It is best that you have already checked out of your room and brought luggage down to the front desk. Arrange transportation from the hotel to the airport in advance via Super Shuttle to both Burbank and LAX. Considering traffic and airport lines, we do not recommend booking your return flight before 2:00 pm.
