PROGRAM REGISTRATION: After you have your room assignment, come to the Road Scholar table to register with the program staff and pick up your arrival packet which we'll review during our orientation session before dinner.

Menus are contracted for the program and are designed to offer balanced, healthy meals for the participants. In addition to the regular Road Scholar meal plan, this hotel offers a vegetarian meal option. Unfortunately, there are no other special meal options. Come and experience the magic of the Rose Parade floats before New Year's Day! Help prepare the materials used to make the floats and decorate some of these magnificent floral floats in their final stages of preparation for the Rose Parade. FIELD TRIP TO THE GETTY CENTER
The Getty Center presents J Paul Getty's collection of Western art from the Middle Ages to the present against a backdrop of dramatic architecture, tranquil gardens, and breathtaking views.

The self-service Cafe at the Getty Center is located on the lower level of the Restaurant/Cafe building and has indoor and outdoor dining areas. The extensive menu includes sandwiches, soups, salad, pizza, tacos, burritos, and grilled items. Wine and beer are also available.

The 125th Rose Parade presented by Honda, themed "Dreams Come True", will take place Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, at 8 a.m. (PST), featuring spirited marching bands from throughout the nation, majestic floral floats, and high-stepping equestrian units. Grand Marshal of the 2014 Tournament of Roses festivities will be announced at a later time.
Our motor coaches leave the hotel at 6:15AM, the morning of the Parade. Our reserved bleacher seats are in front of Pasadena City College at 1570 E. Colorado Ave.Lunch: Lunch at hotelAfternoon: Free afternoon to explore the area on your own, take a nap, watch the Rose Bowl game on TV or watch reruns of the Tournament of Roses Parade on TV with commentary.

If you are interested in attending the Rose Bowl Game, you will be responsible for purchasing your own ticket(s) and arranging transportation to the Rose Bowl and back to the hotel after the game. After every Rose Parade, the floral masterpieces are parked along Sierra Madre and Washington Boulevards in Pasadena and exhibited for visitors to walk by and see in close detail the design and workmanship that goes into these floats. Visitors are able to walk almost within arm's reach of the floats and appreciate for themselves the creativity and the imagination of the floral displays. This has been a Pasadena tradition for over 100 years. Don't forget your camera!Afternoon: HOTEL CHECK OUT: Our program concludes when we return to the hotel at approximately 11:00AM. It is best that you have already checked out of your room and brought luggage down to the front desk. Arrange transportation from the hotel to the airport in advance via Super Shuttle to both Burbank and LAX. Considering traffic and airport lines, we do not recommend booking your return flight before 2:00 pm.
