Dinner: Dinner will be served in our Dining Lodge by our executive chef. The menu varies greatly and is always healthy and balanced.

Evening: This evening will give us a chance to get to know each other and the facility as we prepare for our week ahead. This is also a time in which the group will be brought up to date on the developments of the schedule and changes due to opportunity, need and weather.

String Lake Hike; Craig Thomas Discovery Center; Evening Program- Vogel's Hill Hike

Note: Activity today will be a 4 mile hike with an elevation gain of 300 feet. An additional evening hike will be 2 miles with an elevation gain of 500 feet.

Breakfast: Hot breakfast with cereals, granola, oatmeal, fresh fruit, etc.

Morning: This morning we will visit the Craig Thomas Discovery Center in Grand Teton National Park. We will explore the visitor center including watching the interpretive film and spending time around the relief map, investigating the valley on a small scale and familiarizing ourselves with other locations that we will visit throughout the week.

Lunch: Lunch will be a packed field lunch. Participants will get to make their own lunch and pack what they like.

Afternoon: This afternoon will be spent hiking at String Lake. A hike around the lake will take us through a recent burn area, as well as mature spruce and fir forests. Possible exploration toward Leigh Lake will give us an excellent view of Mount Moran.

Dinner: Dinner will be served in our Dining Lodge by our executive chef. The menu varies greatly and is always healthy and balanced.

Evening: This evening will give participants a chance to venture up and out of Coyote Canyon for a view of the Teton Mountains and a bird’s-eye view of the Jackson Campus.

Hike at Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve; Evening Program- Wildlife Issues and Success Stories of the GYE

Note: Today will be an 7 mile hike with a 400 foot elevation gain.

Breakfast: Hot breakfast with cereals, granola, oatmeal, fresh fruit, etc.

Morning: Visit to the Laurance S. Rockefeller preserve and visitor center. This center is the first environmentally sustainable and LEED Platinum Certified structure in a National Park. The Preserve is a reflection of Rockefeller's life-long commitment to making areas of natural scenic beauty accessible to the public. He strongly believed that nature has the power to restore and sustain the human spirit. It was his hope that, by experiencing this spiritual and emotional renewal, visitors to the Preserve would become aware of the importance of nature in their own lives and acknowledge their roles in acting as good stewards of the land. After visiting this we will begin hiking around Phelps Lake.

Lunch: Lunch will be a packed field lunch. Participants will get to make their own lunch and pack what they like.

Afternoon: The hike around Phelps Lake will take us to the base of Death Canyon, and through a part of the Rockfeller Family's private ranch, donated to Grand Teton National Park in 2007.

Dinner: Dinner will be served in our Dining Lodge by our executive chef. The menu varies greatly and is always healthy and balanced.

Evening: This evening will be an introduction to the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Participants will become familiar with the various challenges that face land and wildlife managers in and around the Jackson Hole area as well as learn facts about wildlife and how difficult it can be to manage populations across government borders.

Jenny Lake Boat Shuttle, Cascade Canyon Hike including Inspiration Point and Hidden Falls

Note: This will be an active day of hiking which will include mileage of 7-9 miles and an elevation gain of up to 1,000 feet.

Breakfast: Hot breakfast with cereals, granola, oatmeal, fresh fruit, etc.

Morning: Scenic Cascade Canyon is the home to Hidden Falls, a 200 foot cascade, and Inspiration Point, rising 500 feet over Jenny Lake. While hiking in Cascade Canyon, you may see climbers ascending the canyon walls and moose eating aquatic vegetation from one of the Cascade Creek ponds.

Lunch: Lunch will be a packed field lunch. Participants will get to make their own lunch and pack what they like.

Afternoon: Continued hike.

Dinner: Dinner will be served in our Dining Lodge by our executive chef. The menu varies greatly and is always healthy and balanced.

Evening: This will be a free evening for participants to venture into Jackson or relax on campus.

Lodging: Teton Science Schools Jackson Campus

Note: This hike will be 6 miles with an elevation gain of 900 feet.

Breakfast: Hot breakfast with cereals, granola, oatmeal, fresh fruit, etc.

Morning: Bradley and Taggart Lakes rest at the base of the Teton Mountains. Both lakes were carved by glaciers and offer scenic vistas behind clear, blue lakes. The loop trail connecting the lakes passes through mature lodgepole pine forest as well as hillsides regenerating from wildfire.

Lunch: Lunch will be a packed field lunch. Participants will get to make their own lunch and pack what they like.

Afternoon: Continued hiking. Ecology, geology and botany will be highlighted.

Dinner: Dinner will be served in our Dining Lodge by our executive chef. The menu varies greatly and is always healthy and balanced.

Evening: The evening will take participants out into Grand Teton National Park to view some of the local megafauna. With spotting scopes and binoculars Teton Science Schools instructors will do their best to find the wildlife that makes this the Serengeti of North America. Possible wildlife include moose, mule deer, bison, pronghorn, bears, elk, eagles, fox, coyotes, wolves and sandhill cranes.

Closing activities. Hands to Work. National Museum of Wildlife Art. Good-Byes.

Breakfast: Hot breakfast with cereals, granola, oatmeal, fresh fruit, etc.

Morning: After breakfast, all participants will take part in "hands-to-work." Hands-to-work is a part of Teton Science Schools' community philosophy. Participants along with staff will clean the spaces they have used throughout the week. All participants of Teton Science Schools' programs take part in hands-to-work, which builds a sense of community and rapport amongst program participants throughout the campus. A group that eats, sleeps and cleans up after itself together is stronger and closer. After hands-to-work, there will be a closing ceremony which will draw a close to the program and give us a chance to look back at the fun times we had through the week. The remainder of the morning will be spent at the National Museum of Wildlife Art. Participants will be treated to a docent tour and then be given time to explore the museum on their own.

Lunch: Program will end after lunch at the Rising Sage Cafe at the National Museum of Wildlife Art.
