- Arrival/Check-In/Registration Opening Dinner & Program

Afternoon:
Check-in and Registration begins at 3:00-3:30 p.m.in Mayflower Lodge - Office. When you get your room assignment, you will also receive your welcome packet, name tag, up-to-date schedule, and other important information we will review during orientation. Coffee and snacks, 3:30-5:00 p.m
Dinner:
Dinner is at 6:00 p.m in the Mayflower Lodge, buffet style with an eclectic flair, offering a variety of selections with healthy choices including a vegetarian option, plus coffee, tea and dessert.
Evening:
Orientation, 7:15 p.m. We begin with introductions, then review the schedule, covers responsibilities, safety guidelines, emergency procedures, and answer any questions you may have. Close the day with a light snack, conversation, board games, TV in the dining and fireside room.

History lecture about the Monadnock region and covered bridges of Cheshire County. Opportunities for Boat rides and hiking
Note:
Boat rides, canoeing, on Swanzey Lake and an expert led hike will be available. Other options will include golf, tennis, reading
Breakfast:
Breakfast will be served 8:00-8:45 am, buffet style in the Mayflower Dining Room featuring choices of cold and hot cereals, bread to toast, scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon, fruit bar with yogurt and granola, plus coffee, tea, and juice..
Morning:
Morning class will begin at 9:00 am with a lecture by the Executive Director of the Historical Society of Cheshire County. on the history of the Monadnock Region. The morning break will include coffee, tea, water, fruit and homemade Danish to renew your energy. The morning will conclude with a power point presentation on the covered bridges of Cheshire County.
Lunch:
Lunch will be served buffet style in the Mayflower Dining Room inviting you to the choices of a full salad bar, soup of the day and taco salad and or sandwich, brownies or cookies, and drinks of your choice. Gluten free or special vegetarian is available upon request.
Afternoon:
The afternoon will begin with a half hour lecture about Swanzey Lake and the terrain by a neighbor who will then lead a hike either to the Beaver Pond or to the vista on top of the hill for great pictures - weather dependent. Boat rides on Swanzey Lake will be offered as well as opportunities to enjoy canoeing, golf, tennis or hanging out
Dinner:
Dinner, will be served at 6:00 pm in the Mayflower Dining Room. After announcements and a blessing for the day a full buffet dinner awaits your palate featuring a salad bar, meat and vegetable entrée, dessert and drinks of your choice. Alternative entrées and special dietary needs are available upon request.
Evening:
The day will close with a light snack, conversation, board games, making a puzzle, reading, watching TV to close the day.
Evening:
Music for the soul featuring a genre of musical styles will be presented by professional musicians.

Classes on history and music followed by a maxi-van tour of the covered bridges followed by music and dance of NH
Breakfast:
Breakfast will be served 8:00-8:45 am, buffet style in the mayflower Dining Room featuring choices of cold and hot cereals, bread to toast, scramble eggs, sausage or bacon, fruit bar with yogurt and granola, plus coffee, tea, and juice.
Morning:
Our first class of the day at 9:00 am will continue presenting the history of the Monadnock Region. Continues The morning break will include coffee, tea, water, fruit and coffee cake to help renew your energy. The morning will conclude with a genre of musical styles presented by professional musicians. Class two at 10:45 am - Music for the Soul
Lunch:
Lunch is served buffet style 12:30- 1:15 pm in the Mayflower Dining Room with delicious choices from the salad bar, homemade soup, chicken sandwiches, dessert and choice of drinks. Our professional chefs are always available to prepare alternative menu requests.
Afternoon:
Our expert instructor will lead a tour using maxi-vans to the 6 covered bridges of Cheshire County In the late afternoon, Music and Dance of NH will be led by Two Fiddles, Dudley and Jacqueline Laufman of Canterbury, NH. Dudley received the National Folk award for being a keeper of the stories, music and dance of Monadnock region.
Dinner:
Dinner will be served at 6:00 pm in the Mayflower Dining Room. After announcements and a blessing, a delicious buffet will be served including a salad bar, meat and vegetable entrée, dessert and drinks of your choice. Gluten free menu is available upon request.
Evening:
After dinner,Music and Dance of NH will continue led by the Two Fiddles. A light snack, conversation, board games, building a puzzle, TV, will be available to close the day.

"Leaf Peeping" by Tour bus. Served lunch will be at a restaurant and place to be determined by autumn tapestry.
Note:
Tour by bus today for "leaf peeping" and picture taking. Day will include lunch in a restaurant and limited walking.
Breakfast:
Breakfast will be served from 8:00-8:45 am, buffet style in the Mayflower Dining Room, featuring pancakes, sausage, bacon, hot and cold cereals, bread to toast, fruit, yogurt bar along with coffee, tea, and juice.
Morning:
You are invited to board a tour bus for a full day of 'leaf peeping" and picture taking. Our destination for the day will be determined by the leaf season. The day will include a served lunch at a restaurant, a visit to a special sight, i.e., St Gauden's Gardens, Covered Bridge Museum, etc. and some information about people and places. .
Lunch:
Lunch at 12:30 pm at a nice restaurant on tour
Afternoon:
Our "leaf peeping" Tour continues for the afternoon, returning to Pilgrim Pines in time for dinner.
Dinner:
Dinner will be served buffet style 6:00 pm in the Mayflower Dining Room. Tonight will feature a lighter fare since our bigger meal was at noon. Tonight, soup, salad, sandwiches, and dessert will help us conclude this incredible day of beauty.
Evening:
After dinner, Music for the Soul will feature a genre of musical styles presented by professional musicians. A light snack, conversation, and activities of your choice will be available to close this day.

Field trip to historic towns of Nelson and Harrisville and opportunities to visit Cathedral of the Pines or Keene, NH

Field trip to Nelson and Harrisville featuring a guided tour of these historic towns.
Breakfast:
A fantastic full buffet breakfast awaits you in the Mayflower Dining Room. Served from 8:00-8:45 am. .
Morning:
Our morning will begin with a third lecture about the history of the Monadnock region. The morning break will include coffee, tea, water, fruit and homemade donuts to renew your energy. After the break we will board maxi-vans for a field trip to the historic towns of Nelson and Harrisville. When we arrive at Nelson, a guided tour will be given along with the history of the town by Alan Rumrill, Executive Director of Historical Society of Cheshire County.
Lunch:
Box Lunches will be served at 12:30 pm in the historic dance hall of Nelson, NH.
Afternoon:
After lunch we will board the maxi-vans for a short trip to the historic mill town of Harrisville. Once again, Alan Rumrill will lead a guided tour. The afternoon will conclude with opportunity to visit Cathedral of the Pines, or to Keene, NH or return to the campus.
Dinner:
Dinner will be served buffet style at 6:00 pm in the Mayflower Dining Room. It will feature a full buffet menu and salad bar.
Evening:
To celebrate our week, we will close our day with the making of ice cream sundaes.
Evening:
7:30 pm Participants are invited to participate in a Homespun event where they share their favorite story, poem, writing, creative writing, song, joke, etc.

Day Six: Friday, October 11

Breakfast:
A full buffet breakfast will be served from 7:45-8:30 am in the Mayflower Dining Room. The buffet will feature omelette's and the specialty of the house, baked oatmeal. We save the best for the last morning.
Morning:
We will begin our morning with power point presentation of covered bridges around the USA/World. In the middle of the morning you will be asked to check-out of your room to give our housekeeping staff time to prepare for the next group. Gathering informally around a cup of coffee we will unwrap the week, sharing stories/pictures and what we have learned.
Lunch:
Our Farewell Luncheon will be served buffet style at 12:15 pm in the Mayflower Dining Room. Box lunches will be available upon request for anyone who needs to leave at an earlier time. We hope you have enjoyed our celebration of the autumn tapestry and history of southwestern New Hampshire and hope you will join us for other Road Scholar learning adventures in the future.
