Itinerary for Sep 4 — Sep 7, 2013

Day One: Wednesday, September 04 - Arrival/Welcome dinner and orientation 
Afternoon: Independent arrivals to San Francisco and transfers to the hotel. Check-in begins at 4:00 pm. If you arrive early you may leave your luggage in a secure location at the hotel.

Dinner: Group dinner at a nearby restaurant and orientation with your Group Leader.

 Description: Located on Fisherman's Wharf with breathtaking views of the San Francisco Bay is the Radisson Fisherman's Wharf Hotel. Experience the essential Fisherman's Wharf attractions just steps from your door, including Pier 39, Alcatraz Island, Ghiradelli Square and the world famous San Francisco Cable Cars.

Day Two: Thursday, September 05 - Muir Woods/Sausalito 
Breakfast: Breakfast at in-hotel restaurant.

Morning: Travel via private bus with a local guide to Muir Woods National Monument-part of the National Parks Service- where you can walk the trails through the redwoods.

Lunch: Lunch in a local Sausalito restuarant.

Afternoon: After some time to walk around Sausalito and admire the view of the Golden Gate Bridge we will return to Fisherman's Warf. You have the afternoon to explore on your own.

Dinner: Experience the renowned San Francisco dinning scene at a restaurant of your choosing. Head to nearby North Beach for some Italian, find a great spot for Cioppino or venture farther afield.

Day Three: Friday, September 06 - Alcatraz 
Breakfast: Breakfast at in-hotel restaurant.

Morning: From nearby Pier 33, board the 9:00 am ferry to Alcatraz Island the storied penitentiary to learn its history. Listen to stories from officers and prisoners who lived and worked there.

Lunch: Lunch together at a local restuarant.

Afternoon: Free time to explore on your own. Perhaps take a cable car over to Golden Gate Park to visit the museums or Botanical Garden or explore the energy of America's oldest Chinatown.

Dinner: With the group at a local restaurant.

Lodging: Radisson Hotel Fisherman's Wharf

Day Four: Saturday, September 07 - Aquarium/Embark Grand Princess 
Breakfast: Breakfast at in-hotel restaurant.

Morning: Spend some time among the animals at the Aquarium of the Bay.

Lunch: Delve into the colors and smells of one of the top farmers markets in the country at Ferry Plaza. Not only local produce and meats are on display but also regional artisinal products and meals from some of the areas restaurants.

Presidio of San FranciscoFormerly a military post, the Presidio is a national park and recreational paradise featuring spectacular vistas, meandering trails, and historic and architectural treasures. Come for a hike, a walking tour, a picnic, to view an exhibit or take a stroll back in time. Entrance to the park and most programs are free. The park is open daily, year-round.

San Francisco ZooNorthern California's largest zoological park features approximately 1,000 exotic and endangered wildlife. Visit the new Grizzly Gulch (June 2007), home to two grizzly bears and stroll through the African Savannah habitat. Experience the wonders of the Children's Zoo and visit other favorites such as Gorilla Preserve, Penguin Island, Koala Crossing, Lemur Forest and the Australian WalkAbout. Ride the historical Dentzel Carousel and Little Puffer miniature steam train.
