Register in our meeting room at any time between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm. Enjoy a hosted reception at 5:00 pm and discuss the week's agenda at 5:30 pm, followed by dinner at 6:00 pm.

Day Two: Monday, September 16
- Visit the West Point lighthouse in Discovery Park, the Chittenden...
Visit the West Point lighthouse in Discovery Park, the Chittenden Locks. Learn about lighthouse basics and Puget Sound sea life.
Breakfast:
The buffet breakfast in the hotel's restaurant includes fresh fruit, juices, yogurt, pancakes, eggs, bacon/sausage, potatoes, breakfast breads/toast, cereals, coffees/teas/milk.
Morning:
Travel a few miles from downtown Seattle to the West Point Lighthouse,built in 1881 and the last lighthouse on Puget Sound to be automated. It's located in 537-acre Discovery Park. From there it's just a few blocks to the Chittenden Locks for a lecture on salmon, boats, and their beautiful botanical garden, followed by a guided walk of the grounds.
Lunch:
Lunch on Dungeness crab or choose from the menu, fish or otherwise, at a popular seafood restaurant on the end of a pier in Elliott Bay.
Afternoon:
Learn all about lighthouses--construction, function, lense types and more, from an expert.
Dinner:
Dinner will be in the hotel this evening.
Evening:
Did you know that Puget Sound is the home of the world's largest octopuses? Get the scoop on our eight-legged friends from the man who knows it all in an after-dinner talk this evening.

Ride on the Washington State ferry to Vashon Island, visit to the Point Robinson lighthouse, Pike Place Market stroll.
Breakfast:
Buffet breakfast in the hotel restaurant this morning.
Morning:
All aboard the Washington State ferry to Vashon Island and the Point Robinson Light on adjacent Maury Island. Built in 1885, it's located halfway between Seattle and Tacoma on a bustling seaway. Hear from a retired Coast Guardsman about the importance of this light to navigation and commerce.
Lunch:
You will love The Hardware Store! It's good food now, not nails and screws, and it's right in the middle of the little town of Vashon. Choose from many tempting menu items and chat with the locals while you relax.
Afternoon:
Stroll through the 106-year-old Pike Place Market; talk to farmers and artists, go behind the scenes to explore little-known parts of this amazing market. Say hello to Sasquatch, look--but don't touch--at what has been judged the second-germiest tourist attraction in the world and visit Seattle's smallest museum.
Dinner:
Dinner in the hotel this evening.
Evening:
Hear about Seattle's architectural growth, from canvas-roofed shacks on the beach to today's thriving metropolitan center, from an acclaimed architectural historian.

Museum of History and Industry and the Center for Wooden Boats. Free afternoon and evening.

Morning:
Ride the Lake Union Streetcar to see the newly-relocated Museum of History and Industry in South Lake Union Park. Explore its multiple floors of Seattle history: stories and artifacts tell the city's story. Stop next door at the Center for Wooden Boats to see historic craft, a walrus-skin umiak, a coracle and vessels you can rent to sail or row for a lively afternoon adventure.
Lunch:
Upon our return to the hotel, lunch is on your own today.
Afternoon:
Free afternoon to explore more of Seattle; the aquarium, the Seattle Art Museum and many more attractions easily reached from our hotel. Suggestions will be provided.
Dinner:

- Ferry to Pt. Townsend on the Olympic Peninsula, visit Pt. Wilson...
Ferry to Pt. Townsend on the Olympic Peninsula, visit Pt. Wilson lighthouse; ferry to Whidbey Island, visit Admiralty Head lighthouse; ferry to north of Seattle, visit the Mukilteo lighthouse.

Breakfast buffet in the hotel restaurant this morning.
Morning:
Travel by well-equipped chartered coach and Washington State ferry to the Olympic Peninsula and the Victorian seaport of Pt. Townsend for a lively lecture on the area's history, time to explore this picturesque town and a visit to the Pt. Wilson light, erected in 1879 at the point where ships turn from the Straits of Juan de Fuca into Puget Sound.
Lunch:
Lunch is on your own in one of Pt. Townsend's excellent cafes. Suggestions will be provided. Stroll Water Street--guess where it's located--with its wonderful old buildings, bookstores, boutiques and colorful characters.
Afternoon:
Ferry from Pt. Townsend to Whidbey Island to visit the light at Admiralty Head. This well-preserved lighthouse is full of history. Hear from an enthusiastic and knowledgable docent about the lighthouse and the fort where it's located. Take a final ferry ride to Mukilteo to visit the beautiful little lighthouse there. We'll climb the stairs inside for a great view. It's a perfect finale to our exploration of the sentinels of Puget Sound.
Dinner:
Enjoy a delightful dinner at a waterfront restaurant in Edmonds, half an hour north of Seattle. Watch the ferries come and go as the sun sets behind the Olympic Mountains.

Day Six: Friday, September 20
- Space Needle film, monorail ride to Seattle Center, Space Needle...
Space Needle film, monorail ride to Seattle Center, Space Needle visit.

Morning:
See a film detailing the construction of the landmark Space Needle in 1962. Ride the monorail to the Seattle Center and ascend the 604' Needle in a glass-fronted elevator. Enjoy a panoramic view of lakes, mountains, Puget Sound and the city. Return to the hotel with the group or choose to explore other attractions at the Seattle Center and return on your own.
