Day Two: Monday, August 12 -
Breakfast: Wake up to a hearty breakfast buffet. Daily entrées will rotate, but you can look forward to a variety of breakfast foods including scrambled eggs, pancakes, French toast, ham, bacon, oatmeal, toast, muffins, yogurt, cold cereal, and hot coffee, tea, and orange juice.

Morning: Bridge Adventure: Each morning we will focus on "Taking Tricks on Purpose," improving declarer play. Learn the secrets to pulling tricks out of thin air, amazing both your partner and your opponents. Since "a hand well bid is played," we'll be discussing all the different bidding methods and conventions that can result in each hand being bid to the optimum contract. We'll learn why finesses are for peasants and children, how to anticipate and short-circuit the defender's shenanigans, how to lose tricks when WE want to (not when THEY want to take them!), Strip and End Plays, Ruffing Finesses, Squeezes and other exotic moves, as well as placing the defender's cards.

Lunch: Enjoy a buffet lunch in the East House dining Hall with entrées including a variety of the following: soup, sandwiches, paninis, pasta, salad bar, and a dessert.

Afternoon: Bridge Adventure: Afternoons will be devoted to "Defense Designed to Make Them Tremble." Truly lethal defense is what separates the good player from the great player. Learn how to read through the back of your partner's cards. Finally get a grip on how to make the Killer Lead. Find out why the third card played in a hand of bridge is the most important for the defense. Master Attitude, Suit Preference and Count signals. And since one of the secrets to counting the declarer's hand and finding the setting tricks is understanding the bidding, we'll be examining the bidding on each hand. You declare 25% of the time, you're dummy 25% of the time (we hope that's all!), but you defend 50% of the time. It's time for you to make those declarers sweat!!

Dinner: A plentiful buffet dinner will be served in the East House Dining Hall.

Evening: Bridge Adventure: Shuffle and Schmooze. Evening Snack.
