Equipment Requirements
Equipment required includes a small day pack, water bottle, hiking boots/shoes, water shoes or shoes you don't mind getting wet, collapsible hiking pole, layered clothing for changeable weather conditions, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, and more in general information packet to be sent to participants. Kayaks, paddles, and personal floatation devices are provided.

Afternoon: Check in at your assigned B&B anytime after 2:00 pm. Orientation packets will be available at check-in.

Dinner: Greet fellow participants and program staff at a welcome dinner held at a waterfront Eastport restaurant.

Evening: Orientation and welcome from program staff and program guides. Program instructors are certified Maine guides and will introduce you to expectations for program events.

Day Two: Monday, July 22 - Kayak the bold waters of Deep Cove on Cobscook Bay and Friar's Road... 
Kayak the bold waters of Deep Cove on Cobscook Bay and Friar's Road off the Eastport Breakwater. Hike the shorelines of Shackford Head State Park.

Breakfast: A sumptuous home-cooked breakfast will be served at the B&B dining room at 8:00 am.

Morning: Vans will depart from motel at 9:00 am going to Eastport's waterfrontd where participants will be split into two groups. Group A will be met by guides for a morning of kayaking in Cobscook and Passamaquoddy Bays, leaving from the Eastport breakwater and paddling to Deep Cove. Paddlers will get a chance to go ashore to do some beachcombing and explore the shoreline. Group B will proceed to Shackford Head Park for a hiking expedition over some of the 90 acre park's five miles of looping trails. They include fossil beds, beaches, and a spectacular overlook encompassing Cobscook Bay.

Lunch: Groups A and B will meet at the Eastport Art Center in Eastport to share a picnic lunch.

Afternoon: Groups A and B will reverse the morning activities with Group B taking to the kayaks for a shoreline adventure, and Group A heading for Shackford Head Park for some invigorating hiking.

Dinner: Dinner will be served in the Perry Grange with a friendly exchange with the Ladies of the Grange.

Evening: Meet with the wife of a lobsterman who can tell you more about the life of a lobster fishing family than ten lobstermen.

Day Three: Tuesday, July 23 - West Quoddy Head State Park and Campobello Island 
Breakfast: A sumptuous home-cooked breakfast will be served at the dining room of the B&B at 8:00 am.

Morning: Vans will depart at 9:00 for West Quoddy Head Lighthouse & Park. You will visit the easternmost point of land in the U.S. at the Lighthouse, then hiking along the spectacular trails of West Quoddy Head, which follows the coastline and offers gorgeous views of Campobello Island and Grand Manan.

Lunch: Picnic lunch at West Quoddy Head State Park

Afternoon: Proceed by van to Campobello Island, New Brunswick, Canada, where we will study the life of FDR through his summer residence at Campobello and the visitor's center. Walk the bogs in Roosevelt International Park and learn about the plants abounding within.

Dinner: You will enjoy a beach party at Gleason's Cove in Perry, complete with grilled chicken, hot dogs, corn-on-cob, s'mores, and more over a cozy campfire.

Day Four: Wednesday, July 24 - Kayaking the beauty that is Whiting Bay and exploring the scenic... 
Kayaking the beauty that is Whiting Bay and exploring the scenic shoreline of Commissary Point.

Breakfast: Enjoy a sumptuous home-cooked breakfast in the B&B Dining Room at 8:00 a.m.

Morning: Participants will rejoin their respective groups for kayaking and hiking. Group B will join guides for kayaking in Whiting Bay, a beautiful secluded experience allowing for ample to explore the shoreline and view aquatic life. Group A will explore the a tidal flat to explore the life within under the direction of a naturalist.If we have time, we''ll also dabble with a "letterboxing" experience.

Lunch: Picnic lunch at the boat landing in Edmunds on Whiting Bay for both groups.

Afternoon: Groups A and B will reverse the morning activities with Group A joining the Maine guides for a paddle in the quiet beauty of Whiting Bay and Group B exploring in the tidal flats of the Bay.

Dinner: Private supper party at Eastport location! Expect great entertainment.

Day Five: Thursday, July 25 - Sailing aboard the schooner Ada C. Lore 
Note: Whale watch time

Breakfast: A home-cooked sumptuous breakfast is served the B&B Dining Room at 8:00 a.m.

Morning: Vans will depart for the Eastport Breakwater at 9:30 am. It's a short walk, you may want to stretch your legs in the summery breeze off the Bay. We'll be spending the morning sailing aboard the Ada C. Lore, a historic 92' schooner. You'll trim and hoist the sails and view aquatic wildlife as you cruise the spectacular waters of Passamaquoddy and Head Harbor Passage. We'll search for whales; sail along side the porpoise and seals; see the eagle nesting along the cliffs of Campobello Island; and watch the daily comings and goings of the local fishermen.

Lunch: We'll have a snack aboard the schooner and then return you to the Easport waterfront where you'll want to sample the many wares of the local eateries.

Afternoon: Free Afternoon. You may want to explore Eastport's historic waterfront.

Dinner: A Maine lobster dinner treat at the waterfront Seaview Restaurant.

Evening: Graduation festivities and reflection of the week's best.

Day Six: Friday, July 26 - Enjoy Eastport 
Breakfast: Another home-cooked extraordinary breakfast at the B&B dining room.

Morning: Bid a fond farewell to all your new friends and come back anytime.
