EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Day Five: Thursday, September 12 - Field Trip to Southern Door County for Lighthouses
Breakfast: Breakfast at the hotel.

Morning: Board our bus for a FIELD TRIP to southern Door County. We'll start with a walk about the grounds of the 1899 Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal Lighthouse and the 1882 North Pierhead Light. The station at the mouth of the Lake Michigan Ship Canal is an active U.S. Coast Guard Station. We'll then travel to Peninsula State Park and the 1868 Eagle Bluff Lighthouse. Restored to its 19th century appearance, this lighthouse provides a glimpse into the lives of the keepers and their families. Enjoy a docent-led visit to this lighthouse.

Lunch: Lunch at a local restaurant.

Afternoon: Continue our field trip by crossing the peninsula to the Lake Michigan side for a guided visit of the 1869 Cana Island Lighthouse. This 89-foot tall tower stands on the east side of the island marking the rocky and shallow shoreline. Then continue to the 1869 Baileys Harbor Range Lights. These range lights are sheltered from the elements and are made from wood rather than brick. Also, see the 1851 Old Baileys Harbor Lighthouse. It is an example of the mid 19th-century "birdcage" design.

Dinner: Dinner at a local restaurant.

Evening: Enjoy some local entertainment for our final evening together.
