Breakfast: Breakfast served in the Bistro Cafe.

Morning: Coach to Mission Bay Aquatic Center

The Mission Bay Aquatic Center is a cooperative collegiate waterfront facility jointly owned and operated by Associated Students of San Diego State University, and Campus Recreation of University of California San Diego. The Center is the world's largest instructional waterfront facility. Last year over 15,000 participants experienced instructional and recreational opportunities in wakeboarding, sailing, boogie boarding, surfing, water skiing, rowing, kayaking, and windsurfing.

At the Center a one-time presentation on safety rules will be followed by an evaluation of the participants' water adeptness (swim test). Once that is completed, instruction on riding a boogie board will be followed with lots of fun in the water!

Afternoon: The coach will depart for La Jolla Shores.

In or on the water is the perfect way to explore the spectacular scenery and coastal formations which make La Jolla Shores a favorite of tourist and locals alike. A certified guide will keep the group together and point out the beauty and fragility of this coastal habitat. If snorkeling is the activity of the day, leopard sharks and shovel nose guitar fish will be the creatures to view. If kayaking is the activity, harbor seals may make their appearance as they bask in the sun on the rocks or dive into the surf to fish. Note that the conditions of the ocean on the day of the visit will determine if the activity is snorkeling or kayaking.

Coach returns to the hotel.

Dinner: A social for adults and a social for youngsters will be followed by dinner served in a banquet room assigned by the hotel.

Evening: Two veteran surfers will offer an informative and entertaining introduction to the culture of surfing in Southern California with an inspiring video presentation to whet the appetities of the participants for their surfing experiences in San Diego!
