As your Road Scholar program tuition includes free access to The Walters Art Museum next door to Peabody (open until 5:00pm), feel free to visit while you are waiting.
ORIENTATION: 4:00-5:15pm. We will gather in our meeting room and begin with introductions. We will review the updated daily schedule, discuss responsibilities, safety guidelines, emergency procedures, provide you with key staff contact names and phone numbers, and answer any questions you may have.
Depending on timing of arrivals, the Orientation session may be rescheduled to the evening from 6:00-7:15pm (to be determined one week prior to program commencement).
The educational focus of this particular program is “The Opera Student Experience” with related lectures by experts. You will go behind the scenes, interact with faculty and students, attend classes to observe the rigors of honing passion into craft, and sit in on rehearsals as available. You will also have free access to a variety of concerts/recitals that are part of Peabody’s regular conservatory schedule as well as the world-class Walters Art Museum and Baltimore Museum of Art.Dinner: Buffet dining with ample healthy food choices at each meal.Evening: PERFORMANCE: Each year, Peabody presents hundreds of concerts, recitals, and free performances by our stellar students. You are invited to enhance your enjoyment and appreciation of the program by attending the free performances of your choice each evening during the program; often, there will be several to choose from.Lodging: Peabody InnMeals Included: Dinner
