Day Two: Tuesday, May 07 -
Breakfast: A full breakfast is served each morning in hotel.

Morning: We begin our day at the Buffalo Visitor's Bureau at their headquarters in the beautiful E.B. Green Market Arcade Building. Three video presentations will introduce us to some of the highlights and history in Buffalo. Next, we will walk and at times jump for a ride on the Metro Rail to experience other architectural gems in the city. Our tour guide will be the informative and charming Chuck LaChiusa. Check out his architectural website buffaloah.com. Sites for viewing and touring include Louis Sullivan's Guarantee Building, Daniel Burnham's Ellicott Square Building and Buffalo City Hall - one of the finest examples of Art Deco in the country.

Lunch: Buffet lunch will be on the 10th floor of the M&T Bank - designed by Minoru Yamasaki who also designed the World Trade Center in NYC.

Afternoon: After lunch we will continue our journey and stop at many of the other magnificent buildings in the downtown area. An optional visit to the Old Editions Book Store on Huron St. will complete your busy day or use the remainder of the afternoon for touring on your own or resting until dinner.

Dinner: Dinner at a nearby Buffalo restaurant.

Evening: To prepare you for your in-depth tour of the Darwin Martin Complex on Wednesday, we will have a wonderful power point of vintage slides taken in the Martin House in the 1970's when the University at Buffalo owned the house. Annegret Richards was the "site security" for the house and also worked for the University as a librarian for the School of Architecture. She took amazing slides of the house and the windows and will present them tonight.
