Afternoon: Check-in at hotel

Dinner: Dinner at nearby restaurant

Evening: Orientation class

Day Two: Monday, May 13 - Tour of Island Including History Museum/Local Lighthouse/Perry's... 
Tour of Island Including History Museum/Local Lighthouse/Perry's Victory and IPM

Breakfast:

Morning: South Bass Island-Local Cultural History--tour by tour train, visit South Bass Island Lighthouse, and the Lake Erie Islands Historical Society, day will be led by local history expert.

Lunch: Noon lunch at waterfront restaurant.

Afternoon: Visit to Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial, talk by Interpretive Staff, other historic island locations

Dinner: Dinner at waterfront restaurant.

Evening: Lecture at historic island Town Hall on natural and cultural history topics.

Day Three: Tuesday, May 14 - Gibraltar Island/ the Ohio State University Stone Laboratory/Lake... 
Gibraltar Island/ the Ohio State University Stone Laboratory/Lake Erie Ecology

Breakfast:

Morning: Boat transportation from Put-in-Bay to Gibraltar Island, home of the Ohio State University's Stone Laboratory, the oldest freshwater lab in the US. We visit the Plankton Lab and explore the island and its buildings with OSU staff with a view of the historic home of Jay Cooke, financier of the Civil War. Enjoy a limnology science cruise on Lake Erie.

Return by boat back to Put-in-Bay

Lunch: At waterfront restaurant or Stone Lab's lakefront dining hall.

Afternoon: Visit to the Aquatic Resources Visitor Center. Enjoy a snake program with Kristin Stanford, who was featured on Dirty Jobs.

Dinner: Dinner at waterfront restaurant.

Evening: Lecture at historic Town Hall on natural and cultural history topics.

Day Four: Wednesday, May 15 - South Bass Island Natural History / Lake Erie Islands Nature and... 
South Bass Island Natural History / Lake Erie Islands Nature and Wildlife Center / Caves

Breakfast:

Morning: Visit Lake Erie Islands Nature and Wildlife Center and caves.

Lunch: Noon: Lunch at waterfront restaurant.

Afternoon: Visit to Butterfly House on South Bass Island with butterfly walk and tagging following.

Dinner: Dinner at waterfront restaurant.

Evening: Lecture at historic Town Hall on natural and cultural history topics.

Lodging: Ahoy Bed & Breakfast or Arbor Inn Bed & Breakfast or Ashley's Island House Bed & Breakfast or English Pines Bed & Breakfast

Day Five: Thursday, May 16 - Ferry to Kelleys Island / Glacial Grooves / Fossils 
Breakfast:

Morning: Ferry trip to Kelleys Island, Tour of Glacial Grooves to discover these unique geological formations and to the East Quarry to hunt for fossils. Walk on the Boardwalk at the North Pond State Nature Preserve.

Lunch: Box lunch at the North Pond State Nature Preserve.

Afternoon: Continuation of field Trip at Kelley's Island. Visit to Ohio Historical Society Petroglyphs. This field trip will be led by experts in geology and natural history from local universities and Kelleys Island. Return to Put-in-Bay by Ferry.

Dinner: On the waterfront.

Evening: Free evening.
