Offenbach's riotous opera features the fabulous mezzo-soprano Susan Graham in the title role. Spoiled and domineering, the Grand Duchess gets what she wants - until she set her sights on the young soldier Fritz (Paul Appleby). Her amorous pursuit mobilizes everything we need for a howling good time: wealth, wine and wicked satire. Performance begins at 8:30 PM. Bus will return to hotel LATE (approximately 12:00 AM!) (This is the opera's opening night, when many attendees show off their finery. While formal attire isn't necessary - business or business casual is fine - this is your chance to dress up if you'd like!)
