Description: Pingree Park is a beautiful mountain valley. Within this valley is Colorado State University's Pingree Park Campus. The 1,200-acre campus is within sight of Rocky Mountain National Park, the Comanche Peak Wilderness Area, and Roosevelt National Forest.

Day One: Tuesday, September 03 - Orientation/Campus Tour/Introductions
Afternoon: Welcome to the beautiful Pingree Park Campus! Please give yourself time to arrive and check-in to your room before our required 5:00 PM orientation. We will have an introduction to the campus by a staff member and then we walk to dinner. For those needing a Shuttle from Fort Collins to Pingree Park it departs 3 pm from The Hilton Hotel in Fort Collins. Reservations are Required. See Shuttle Reservation Form in Preparatory Materials Packet.

Dinner: Pingree Park's professional dining service staff takes pride in preparing nutritious meals for a variety of tastes. The dining hall is shared by everyone on campus. All meals are served cafeteria style with a choice of entrees and beverages; second helpings are available for most selections. Lunches and dinners always include a salad bar and an array of desserts.

Evening: After dinner we'll have an informative overview of the program to come plus an opportunity to meet the program staff and your fellow participants during an introductory get-acquainted session. We’ll review the updated schedule, cover responsibilities, safety guidelines, emergency procedures, and answer any questions you may have.

Day Two: Wednesday, September 04 - Sunrise Photo Walk / Practice Camera Techniques /...
Breakfast: All meals are served cafeteria style with a choice of entrees and beverages; second helpings are available for most selections.

Morning: We'll have an optional sunrise photo walk this morning before breakfast. Then we'll do some preliminary classroom work in preparation to a walk on campus to practice camera techniques.

Lunch: All meals are served cafeteria style with a choice of entrees and beverages; second helpings are available for most selections. Lunches and dinners always include a salad bar and an array of desserts.

Afternoon: After lunch instructors are available in the lab for individual assistance. Participants are welcome to take a further hike on or off campus before dinner.

Dinner: All meals are served cafeteria style with a choice of entrees and beverages; second helpings are available for most selections. Lunches and dinners always include a salad bar and an array of desserts.

Evening: After dinner we will have a session on sunrise photography, and waterfall photography including techniques, equipment, etc. This can include a brief presentation of sunrise and waterfall images taken in past years.

Day Three: Thursday, September 05 - Sunrise Photo Walk / Photograph Beaver Falls
Breakfast: All meals are served cafeteria style with a choice of entrees and beverages; second helpings are available for most selections.

Morning: Today begins early with a sunrise walk before breakfast to photograph in the Pingree Park valley. Capture the sunlight hitting the 12-13,000 ft. peaks at the head of the valley, capture reflections in the S. Fork of the Poudre River, or perhaps photograph a moose or deer in the meadow.

Lunch: Today will prepare a sack lunch from the cafeteria to enjoy outside.

Afternoon: We take a short van shuttle ride for a hike to Beaver Falls. This is an easy hike, mostly level, to a sprawling waterfall area where you can search for many kinds of waterfall images. Upon returning in the early afternoon, you have free time for rest or downloading images. Instructors will be available in the lab for individual help.

Dinner: All meals are served cafeteria style with a choice of entrees and beverages; second helpings are available for most selections. Lunches and dinners always include a salad bar and an array of desserts.

Evening: After dinner there will be an optional presentation by one of your instructors.

Day Four: Friday, September 06 - Optional hike to Cirque Meadows or further explor...
Optional hike to Cirque Meadows or further explore the Pingree Park Valley.

Breakfast: All meals are served cafeteria style with a choice of entrees and beverages; second helpings are available for most selections.

Morning: Today begins with breakfast and packing of a sack lunch. This day’s activities have two options. Those who would like to walk up into the mountains will be led to Cirque Meadows. Those preferring to remain in the valley area will explore the Old Homestead, walk further within the valley loop, or explore the Riparian Nature Trail.

Lunch: Today will prepare a sack lunch from the cafeteria to enjoy outside.

Afternoon: Continue field trip

Dinner: All meals are served cafeteria style with a choice of entrees and beverages; second helpings are available for most selections. Lunches and dinners always include a salad bar and an array of desserts.

Evening: After dinner there will be an optional presentation by one of your instructors.

Day Five: Saturday, September 07 - Sunrise Photo Walk/Reception and Show

Morning: We will begin with a sunrise photo opportunity followed by breakfast. After breakfast lab time is available for choosing and processing images to be included in the evening show. This time is also available for optional walks.

Lunch: All meals are served cafeteria style with a choice of entrees and beverages; second helpings are available for most selections. Lunches and dinners always include a salad bar and an array of desserts.

Afternoon: After lunch more time is available, with instructor assistance, to prepare your show for this evening.

Dinner: All meals are served cafeteria style with a choice of entrees and beverages; second helpings are available for most selections. Lunches and dinners always include a salad bar and an array of desserts.

Evening: Tonight we will have a celebratory reception and view a presentation of your favorite images from the week!
