A morning trip north to the Bluegrass Region will bring us to the beginning of world of Horses at the Kentucky Horse Park. Lunch will be in the restaurant on sight and attendees will be able to explore the museums at the park.

Note: The Kentucky Horse Park has many attractions which will require long periods of walking and standing as well as being outdoors.

Breakfast: Buffet breakfast available at 7:00-8:30 AM in the Main Dining Room, Boone Tavern Hotel.

Morning: We will begin the day heading North to the Kentucky Horse Park. The morning activities will be scheduled and include activities such as Horse Drawn Tours, Memorial Walk of Champions, Mare and Foal Show, Horses of the World presentation, and a video, The Reign of Nobility.

Lunch: Participants will dine at the Kentucky Horse Park in the Bit and Bridle Restaurant From a buffet in a private dining room.

Afternoon: The afternoon will give participants a chance to explore the Kentucky Horse Park at their leisure and visit the International Museum of the Horse and the American Saddlebred Museum.

Dinner: Regional cuisine is served at the Boone Tavern Restaurant.

Evening: Handicapping Session by a professional trainer and handicapper.

Visit Keeneland Racecourse for a backside of the track tour including the morning works and a walk through the shedrows. Lunch at theTrack Kitchen. Tour a Thoroughbred breeding farm and view several champion stallions. Handicapping Session followed by presentation from a Thoroughbred Trainer. Dinner at Boone Tavern Restaurant.

Note: behind the scenes tour of Keeneland racetrack is walking and standing and will last approximately 2 hours. Breeding Farm Tour will be standing for one hour in outdoor conditions.

Morning: A morning trip north to the Bluegrass Region and the world-renowned Keeneland Racecourse where a knowledgeable guide will will give you an in depth introduction to Kenucky's most well known industry. A view of the morning "works" will give you insights of the strategies for the training of these magnificent four-legged athletes. Then it's on to the Sales Pavillion where you'll see the venue for the exchange of billions of dollars annually. A walk through the shedrows will let you experience the "backside of the track" as you watch grooms and trainers tending to the horses that will be racing in the days soon to follow.

Lunch: Participants will dine in an informal atmosphere surrounded by professional thoroughbred trainers, exercise riders, grooms and the everyday working people who are the backbone of this Sport of Kings.

Afternoon: An afternoon drive through some of the Bluegrass' most beautiful countryside will bring you to one of the premiere Thoroughbred breeding farms. Here you'll get a close-up view of champion racehorses that demand hundreds of thousands of dollars in stud fees. An expert guide will leave you with an appreciation of the care, pride and dedication to the industry these farms represent. A tour of Gluck Equine Research Center at the University of Kentucky will take you deeper into the horse industry and see just how big of a business the Equine Industry is.

Dinner: Dinner will be served when we arrive back to Boone Tavern Hotel

Evening: Musical Performance by local musicians

Morning transfer to Keeneland/Keeneland Library Tour/Horse Racing/Main Dining Room, Boone Tavern Hotel.

Note: Tour of library will last approximately one hour with some standing but with the option to sit. At the racetrack we will be indoors but participants will have the option to go track side to watch the races.

Breakfast: Breakfast buffet available 7:00-8:30 AM in the Main Dining Room, Boone Tavern Hotel.

Morning: At 9:00 AM the transportation departs to Keeneland for a day of live thoroughbred racing. Upon arrival we'll visit the Keeneland Library, dedicated to the history of the Thoroughbred. Nearly every major trade publication relies on it for information and research. Laura Hillenbrand used it to research her best-selling non-fiction book, "Seabiscuit". We will also have a session on handicapping to introduce participants to the racing form, how to read it, and how to bet based on the facts combined with their best hunch guesses. From there it's on to the Keeneland grandstand where the rest of the day will be spent in the dining room overlooking the track (jacket/tie required for gentlemen).

Lunch: A lavish buffet lunch will be served in a private dining room atop the Keeneland grandstand. A full service bar and exclusive betting windows are also available in the room.

Afternoon: The first race goes off at 1:15 PM Watch the afternoon of racing from the exclusive track-view room atop the clubhouse or mingle with other race fans in the paddock where the horses parade close-up before each race.

Dinner: Dinner will be served when we arrive back to Boone Tavern Hotel

Voluntary Tour of Berea College. Road to the Triple Crown/Departures at Leisure/Lunch at Boone Tavern dining room

Note: The documentary will be approximately two hours long followed by lunch at Boone Tavern Restaurant with departures at participants leisure.

Breakfast: Breakfast buffet available 7:00-8:30 AM in the Main Dining Room, Boone Tavern Hotel.

Morning: Voluntary tour of Berea College. A final wrap-up that puts the past few days into perspective includes a viewing of the documentary, "First Saturday in May", which follows the course that five professional trainers take en route to the Kentucky Derby and the grueling schedule of preparatory races, and qualifications required to make it to the Kentucky Derby's "Run for the Roses". Attendees will understand why such an amazing feat of equine athleticism combined with an incredible streak of luck is so rare.

Lunch: Attendees will eat from a limited menu in the Boone Tavern Dining Room. Departure at leisure to follow.
