Day One: Sunday, July 14 - LaVonne's Fish Camp
Arrive To: Arrival from mid-day to evening. The dinner meal is provided. Activities include beach walking; brief overview of week; Eskimo naming ceremony; introduction games with local children. Inupiaq Eskimo folktales are read and shared.

Dinner: Evening meal always includes fresh fish, green salad, vegetable, an additional entrée, rice or potatoes or pasta, and homemade dessert. The additional entrée can include moose, caribou, seal, spaghetti, and tacos. Homemade dessert can include bread pudding, cake, and cookies.

Day Two: Monday, July 15 - The Bone Garden/National Park Service/Bedtime Sto...
Breakfast: Breakfast options vary but will include homemade muffins, old-fashion oatmeal, toast, cold cereals and fruit. Some breakfasts include a hot entrée of sourdough hotcakes or eggs.

Morning: Introduction to the Bone Garden. Fish Printing on T-shirt.

Lunch: Lunch options vary but will include homemade soups, sandwiches and homemade cookies. Soups can include vegetable, caribou barley, salmon chowder and chicken rice.

Afternoon: Catch your dinner with a net (Arctic Keta salmon, Arctic char or sheefish) and experience other exotic local Inupiaq (nikapak) foods (muktuk, ikura, oogruk, caribou jerky, seal jerky, siilaq, sourdock, etc).

Dinner: Evening meal always includes fresh fish, green salad, vegetable, an additional entrée, rice or potatoes or pasta, and homemade dessert. The additional entrée can include moose, caribou, seal, spaghetti, and tacos. Homemade dessert can include bread pudding, cake, and cookies.

Evening: Inupiaq Eskimo folktales are read and shared.

Meet an Iditarod Race Dog Team/National Park Service/Ivory Carving Demonstrations

Breakfast: Breakfast options vary but will include homemade muffins, old-fashion oatmeal, toast, cold cereals and fruit. Some breakfasts include a hot entrée of sourdough hotcakes or eggs.

Morning: Meet an Iditarod Race Dog Team.

Lunch: Lunch options vary but will include homemade soups, sandwiches and homemade cookies. Soups can include vegetable, caribou barley, salmon chowder and chicken rice.

Afternoon: Visit National Park Service and join the Arctic Circle National Park Service Junior Ranger Program (NPS). Learn archelogy activities in the Kotzebue area. Upon returning to fish camp experience exotic local Inupiaq (nikapak) foods (muktuk, ikura, oogruk, caribou jerky, seal jerky, siilaq, sourdock, etc).

Dinner: Evening meal always includes fresh fish, green salad, vegetable, an additional entrée, rice or potatoes or pasta, and homemade dessert. The additional entrée can include moose, caribou, seal, spaghetti, and tacos. Homemade dessert can include bread pudding, cake, and cookies.

Evening: Ivory, baleen and bone carving demonstrations provided by local artisans

Day Four: Wednesday, July 17 - Discovering the Beach/Hike to Loon Lake/Bedtime S...
Breakfast: Breakfast options vary but will include homemade muffins, old-fashion oatmeal, toast, cold cereals and fruit. Some breakfasts include a hot entrée of sourdough hotcakes or eggs.

Morning: Beach comb and see what surprises the ocean might give you: 20,000 year old pieces of woolly mammoth bones, shells, seaweeds, seals, and “toe biters”.

Lunch: Lunch options vary but will include homemade soups, sandwiches and homemade cookies. Soups can include vegetable, caribou barley, salmon chowder and chicken rice.

Afternoon: Hike on the tundra to Loon Lake about 1/2 mile. If you're lucky you might see a caribou herd or other Arctic animals such as red fox, golden mantled parkey squirrels, or a land otter. Find edible delicacies there to bring back for tastes in the evening dinner salad.

Birds that Travel Half Way Around the World/Discovery Kotzebue/Bedtime Stories

Breakfast: Breakfast options vary but will include homemade muffins, old-fashion oatmeal, toast, cold cereals and fruit. Some breakfasts include a hot entrée of sourdough hotcakes or eggs.

Morning: Find the bird that travels half way around the world to raise its chicks in the Arctic and discover why they do that. See one of the rarest loons in the world.

Lunch: Lunch options vary but will include homemade soups, sandwiches and homemade cookies. Soups can include vegetable, caribou barley, salmon chowder and chicken rice.

Afternoon: Visit the village of Kotzebue, Alaska. See how Native Americans live in a community north of the Arctic Circle. Upon returning to fish camp experience exotic local Inupiaq (nikapak) foods (muktuk, ikura, oogruk, caribou jerky, seal jerky, siilaq, sourdock, etc).
