You will stay in a stylishly renovated local Inn, proudly preserving the comfortable simplicity of its classic motor inn structure completely renovated with natural design choices and a full complement of modern, more upscale features and amenities. Inn amenities include heated indoor pool and jacuzzi, dry sauna, and limited exercise facilities open year round. The Spa at Earthbox is on site and available for massage, body treatments, facials, manicures and pedicures. Rooms at the Inn have 2 queen sized beds, a mini-fridge, microwave, complimentary WiFi, and private bath. The Inn is easy walking distance (1-3 blocks) from all of the Friday Harbor amenities and just 3 blocks from the waterfront. Continental Breakfast Buffet: featuring a variety of fresh fruits, assorted hot/cold cereals, assorted breakfast breads (toast, English muffin, bagel, etc.), cottage cheese, boiled eggs, coffee, tea, juice.
Morning:
Presentation "Views from the Islands" offers an insider’s look at contemporary life in the Islands, and explores issues affecting Island life. Then discover the authentic Coast Salish Native history with particular note of Island's rich archaeological heritage.
Lunch:
Have lunch the way you like it! Lunch will be served buffet-style and features a soup of the day with salad bar (including green leaf / spinach salad, a variety of fresh raw veggies, potato salad, three bean salad, and more) – topped off with coffee, tea, iced, water and dessert of the day.
Afternoon:
San Juan Island excursion explores the northern areas of San Juan Island. We'll start with the picturesque Limekiln Lighthouse, now an Orca whale observation. We'll continue on to San Juan Island National Park (British Camp), and outpost and historic Roche Harbor, before heading back to the hotel.

Our dinners are served buffet style so that you choose what works for you. Tonight’s dinner features NW green salad, baked salmon/fish (as locally available by season), rice , and steamed veggies– topped off with coffee, tea, iced tea, water and dessert of the day.

Orcas Island - "Creative Spirit of the Emerald Isle" as seen from prolific art collections to salmon restoration efforts.
Breakfast:
Breakfast is early on this day so that we may catch the inter-island ferry. Continental Breakfast Buffet: featuring a variety of fresh fruits, assorted hot/cold cereals, assorted breakfast breads (toast, English muffin, bagel, etc.), cottage cheese, boiled eggs, coffee, tea, juice.
Morning:
Board the inter-island ferry for the scenic cruise to Orcas Island. Explore the creative culture of Orcas with a field trip to private art collection showcasing works created in the San Juan's, personally guided by the owner/curator. This private residence includes a whimsical underground grotto, undersea oracle and many works commissioned as part of the Museum's architecture.
Lunch:
Enjoy lunch in Eastsound Village, followed by a little free time to explore the village.
Afternoon:
Field trip continues to historic farmstead, now a showcase Chinook Salmon enhancement facility seen as a benchmark for natural rearing methods in the Northwest. Cruise through the Islands aboard the ferry in the late afternoon and return to Friday Harbor, San Juan Island in time for dinner.
Dinner:
Our dinners are served buffet style so that you choose what works for you. Tonight’s dinner features NW green salad, home-made meatloaf, steamed veggies, and one of the following: rice, potatoes, pasta– topped off with coffee, tea, iced tea, water and dessert of the day.
Evening:
Enjoy a free evening to stroll the seaside town of Friday Harbor.

San Juan Island: Whales, History and Treasures of the southern part of the island.

Morning:
Morning field trip to the Island's southern tip explores San Juan Island National Historic Park (American Camp) with it's rare coastal prairie, marine views, and unique history. Savor the views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Olympic Mountains from South Beach, the longest stretch of beach in the Islands. Learn about the 1850's boundary dispute and how the San Juan Island National Historic Park was founded to commemorate the "pig war" that was peacefully resolved without violence.
Lunch:
Today’s lunch features a build your own taco bar – with everything needed to build it your way (beef, refried beans, cheeses, flour/corn tortillas, lettuce, tortilla chips, salsa & more) – topped off with coffee, tea, iced, water and dessert of the day.
Afternoon:
Small group walking field trips to the San Juan Island Historical Museum and the Whale Museum, the nation's first museum dedicated to whale's living in the wild. Guided expert program at both museums.

Breakfast:
Continental Breakfast Buffet: featuring a variety of fresh fruits, assorted hot/cold cereals, assorted breakfast breads (toast, English muffin, bagel, etc.), cottage cheese, boiled eggs, coffee, tea, juice.
Morning:
Hop aboard the WA State ferry and sail to Lopez Island; Field trip steps back in time at the historic Port Stanley School house for a presentation on Island-Style Sustainable Farming from renowned expert.
Lunch:
Picnic Lunch at the historic Port Stanley School house.
Afternoon:
Field trip continues for an expert guided exploration of Lopez Farm for a first hand look at sustainable farming in the Islands. Then head to tiny Lopez Village to uncover its keenly designed community layout. Special access to a milestone Community Land Trust housing development showcasing sustainable design, construction and landscaping techniques. Take a break from your study and mingle with the friendly locals as you stroll the village during some relaxed open time. Return to San Juan Island via ferry in the late afternoon.
Dinner:
Our dinners are served buffet style so that you choose what works for you. Tonight’s dinner features NW green salad, prawns & scallops (in sun-dried tomato pesto), penne pasta and steamed veggies– topped off with coffee, tea, iced tea, water and dessert of the day.
Evening:
Special farewell program features historical folk music from a performer / musicologist revered as an Island icon and local treasure. Features homespun songs and stories from people who built America while living a simpler life. This unusual and irreverent collection of songs conveys remote history through toe-tapping music.

Breakfast:

Morning:
Program concludes following breakfast to allow time to return via ferry to mainland and return to greater Seattle area by late afternoon. Breakfast available early for those wishing to depart on 8:00 AM ferry.
