Afternoon: Meet Shawnee staff and fellow explorers for a program orientation.

Dinner: Join Road Scholar participants and staff for a Welcome Dinner.

Evening: Water safety talk and tips on reading the river.

Day Two: Monday, August 05 - Rafting skills clinic, guided river trip, hiking, evening skills... 
Rafting skills clinic, guided river trip, hiking, evening skills class.

Note: Rafting 4 miles on easy, calm water. Guided hike is 2 miles, on trail with some rocky and rugged sections, elevation gain of up to 1000 ft; guided nature walk is 2 miles, smooth and level.

Breakfast: Breakfast buffet at the River Room.

Morning: Meet at Shawnee River Trips for a rafting skills clinic including safety tips, followed by guided river trip.

Lunch: Lunch at the Inn.

Afternoon: Young people will enjoy a guided trail hike, while adults take a more leisurely guided nature walk.

Dinner: Buffet dinner at the Inn.

Evening: Kayaking skills class.

Day Three: Tuesday, August 06 - Kayaking skills clinic, guided river trip, yoga, evening concert 
Note: Kayaking 6 miles on mostly calm water, some exposed rocks and short sections of Class I rapids.

Breakfast: Breakfast buffet at the River Room.

Morning: Meet at Shawnee River Trips for a kayaking skills clinic including safety tips, followed by guided river trip.

Lunch: Lunch at the Inn.

Afternoon: A yoga stretching class to relax sore muscles, followed by a canoeing skills class.

Dinner: Buffet dinner at the Inn.

Evening: Concert on the front lawn.

Day Four: Wednesday, August 07 - Canoeing skills clinic, guided river trip, lunch on the river, free... 
Canoeing skills clinic, guided river trip, lunch on the river, free time afternoon and evening.

Note: Canoeing 10 miles on mostly calm water, with some stretches of Class I rapids and exposed rocks. Easy eddy swim.

Breakfast: Breakfast buffet at the River Room.

Morning: Meet at Shawnee River Trips for a canoeing skills clinic, followed by guided river trip.

Lunch: Pull out of the river for a picnic lunch along the way.

Afternoon: River trip continues, with a stop for a swim and a rock jump. Free time for remainder of the afternoon.

Dinner: Buffet dinner at the Inn.

Evening: DVD - Lost in the Grand Canyon

Lodging: Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort

Delaware Water Gap National Recreation AreaFor 40 miles the Middle Delaware River passes between low forested mountains with barely a house in sight. Then the river cuts through the mountain ridge to form the famed"Water Gap." Exiting the park, the river will run 200 miles more to Delaware Bay and the Atlantic Ocean at Wilmington, Delaware.
