Welcome to the charming City of Portland, getting to know your fellow photographers and learning about the upcoming week.

Note: While at our motel, we will get to know each other, learn about the upcoming week and learn how to use our camera to take better pictures.

Arrive To: Check in between 3:00 - 4:30 PM at Lodging

Afternoon: 3:30-4:40 pm Beginning photographers join instructor to learn how to use basic settings of your camera. Bring camera and instruction manual. 4:30-6:00 pm All participants meet to get to know each other and learn about how to operate your camera.

Dinner: Dinner will be at 6:15 PM at motel restaurant.

Evening: Evening orientation and introductions/discussion until 9:00 PM. Lecture on photo techniques of exposure and composition.

Hood River with fields of wildflowers. Columbia River Gorge waterfalls.

Note: Short walks to find the best flowers and scenes to photograph.

Breakfast: Breakfast will be served at 7:15 AM in lodging restaurant.

Morning: Morning will be spent in Hood River area, seeing fields of wildflowers, views of Mt. Hood and windsurfing if the wind is blowing.

Lunch: On your free time, explore the quaint town of Hood River as you select your eatery for lunch.

Afternoon: We will drive the historic Columbia River highway and photograph the majestic Multnomah falls.

Dinner: Dinner will be at Multnomah Falls lodge restaurant, adjacent to Multnomah falls, the largest falls in Oregon at 542 ft.

Evening: Driving the Historic River Gorge highway with stop for sunset pictures at Crown point overlooking the Columbia River Gorge.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner

Explore and photograph Portland in bloom at Crystal Springs Rhododendron Gardens and along the city streets.

Note: Short walks on paved paths to explore Portland and gardens to find your special pictures.

Breakfast: Breakfast will be served at 7:15 AM in lodging restaurant.

Morning: Then we will walk and photograph Crystal Springs Rhododendron Gardens.

Lunch: Sack lunch will be eaten outside.

Afternoon: Lecture on photographic techniques will follow lunch. Afternoon will be spent walking and photographing downtown Portland.

Dinner: Enjoy your free time as you explore Portland and select your eatery to satisfy your taste buds.

Evening: Evening program will review your pictures taken during program with the instructor.

Visit and photograph the majestic northern Oregon coast near Cannon City.

Note: Short walks (less than 1 mile) on hard packed sand and well maintained trails to the beaches and overlooks for our pictures.

Breakfast: Breakfast at 7:15 AM will be served in lodging restaurant.

Morning: We will drive to the majestic Oregon Coast and stop Ecola State park for a dramatic overview of the rugged Oregon Coast and Terrible Tilly lighhouse.

Lunch: Sack lunch will be eaten outside.

Afternoon: Visit Oswald West State park for a walk through an old growth Sitka forest to picturesque Short Sand beach. Free time to explore the quaint town of Cannon Beach and walk the beach for views of Haystack Rock.

Dinner: You will have free time to explore quaint Cannon Beach to find your eatery for dinner.

Evening: In the evening we will return to Portland.

Take pictures of Iris and Peony nurseries in bloom in the Willamette Valley.

Note: Walk through the nurseries as you search for your pictures.

Breakfast: Breakfast at 7:15 AM will be served in lodging restaurant.

Morning: Visit and photograph the Portland Rose Garden.

Lunch: Sack lunch will be eaten at park.

Afternoon: Photograph Iris flowering nurseries in Willamette valley. Picture review session at motel.

Dinner: Dinner eaten at motel.

Evening: Review session of peoples pictures.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Visit and Photograph an old growth forest and the historic Timberline Lodge.

Note: Visit Timberline lodge as we search for photos. Explore an Old Growth forest to find magnificient pictures.

Breakfast: Breakfast served at 7:15 AM in lodging restaurant

Morning: Visit historic Timberline Lodge and photograph its many photogenic subjects.

Lunch: Sack lunch will be eaten on trail.

Afternoon: Walk through an old growth forest along Camp Creek and photograph its beauty. Closing program slide show of our week.

Dinner: Dinner will be eaten at our motel.

Evening: Optional Portland City light night shoot.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Note: No activity scheduled as people pack up for their departure after breakfast.

Breakfast: Breakfast at 7:15 AM will be served in lodging restaurant.

Morning: Program ends at 8:00 AM after breakfast with everyone checking out of lodging by 12:00 PM.
