Day One: Sunday, October 20 - Registration/Introduction
Afternoon: Registration at the motel between 3:00 pm and 4:30 pm.

Dinner: Dinner at 5:30 pm at a local venue. This program includes "A Taste of the Island."

Evening: Welcome/Introductions/ Schedule Review/ Ice Cream Social

Day Two: Monday, October 21 - Local History / Ponies / Birds/ Museum of Chincot...
Local History / Ponies / Birds/ Museum of Chincoteague Island / and Assateague National Seashore/"Watermen-clamming, crabbing, oystering"

Breakfast: Breakfast at a local restaurant

Morning: The morning activities will include a local history presentation that will give you a fresh look at what island history is all about. A short break will be followed by a lecture entitled "The Birds of Assateague," given by a local expert. You will learn to identify some of the many birds that migrate through this area of the country.

Lunch: Lunch at a local restaurant

Afternoon: A visit to the Museum of Chincoteague Island will be our first stop this afternoon. Then we will take a short drive to Assateague National Seashore to enjoy the beach and talk about dune ecology.

Dinner: Dinner at a local restaurant

Evening: Spend the evening with a local waterman. Hear first-hand about the problems that are faced by the watermen and become more aware of the future of the fishing industry in the United States.

Day Three: Tuesday, October 22 - Wildlife Art/Wildlife Safari/"More Than You Ever ...
Wildlife Art/Wildlife Safari/"More Than You Ever Wanted to Know About Horseshoe Crabs"

Breakfast: Breakfast in a local restaurant

Morning: We begin our morning with "Wildlife Art." This presentation, given by an internationally known artist, will include both a slide presentation and a demonstration.

Lunch: Lunch in a local restaurant

Afternoon: Travel into the interior of the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge to look for wild ponies and birds. We will be going into a section of the Refuge that is closed to the public. Bring your camera for this one!

Dinner: Dinner at a local restaurant

Evening: Lecture in the motel conference room. This will be a fun evening that you will not forget for a very long time. What you learn will astound, delight, and amaze you.

Day Four: Wednesday, October 23 - The Art of Bird Carving
Breakfast: Breakfast at a local restaurant

Morning: An award winning decoy carver will join us this morning in the conference room. While he shares some tricks of the trade and tells some amusing stories, he will be carving a bird and the chips will fly. Front row seats are recommended. Our program will end after the morning demonstration at about 11:00 am.
