Field trip to Cowpens National Battlefield - Coming on heels of a Patriot victory at Kings Mountain, Cowpens National Battlefield commemorates a decisive Patriot defeat of better-trained British forces under Lord Cornwallis.

Morning: Travel to and experience Cowpens National Battlefield

Afternoon: More overview of the Revolutionary War at Cowpens

Morning -Field trip to Duke Power World of Energy -Located at Oconee Nuclear Station. Afternoon - free time or watch the featured historical movie

Morning: Field trip to Duke Power's World of Energy to learn why the lakes were created.

Lunch: Enjoy a relaxing lunch in the dinning room

Afternoon: Free time to explore the local area, rest or watch the featured historical film

Dinner: After a relaxing afternoon, come and meet the fellow participants for dinner in the dinning room

Evening: Hear about the creation of the lake system and the efforts to conserve the surrounding land. An outstanding presentation will be provided by a gentleman employed by the Department of Natural Resources.

An overview of southern culture will be presented by visiting Foxfire Museum and Heritage Center. Founded in 1966, Foxfire's learner-centered, community-based educational approach is advocated through this demonstration site.

Morning: Depart for an interesting day at the Foxfire Museum and Heritage Center

Lunch: A delicious bag lunch will be consumed at the Foxfire Museum and Heritage Center

Day Six: Friday, February 22 - Morning - Field trip to The Pickens County Museum...
Morning - Field trip to The Pickens County Museum of Art and History which is in the old Pickens County "Gaol" (jail). This is a wonderful example of turn-of-the-century architecture, constructed of hand-rolled brick and copper-colored tin roof.

Breakfast: Enjoy your last breakfast with the program participants.

Morning: A quick trip to the Pickens County Museum and Heritage Center will conclude the week up.

Lunch: Before you hit the road, enjoy lunch with all those folks you became acquainted with during the week.
