Breakfast: Breakfast at the hotel

Morning: Transfer to the peir, and step on to a boat that is commonly used as a means of transportation by the locals. You will traverse down the Rio Negro river to the EcoPark Lodge where you will check in for 2 nights.

Lunch: Lunch at the EcoPark Lodge

Afternoon: Field Trip "Visit a Local Village": Depart the lodge in paddle or motorized canoes to a local village to learn about the traditions and customs of local Amazonians.

Dinner: Dinner at the lodge, with coffee or tea and water

Evening: Alligator Spotting: Depart the Amazon EcoPark Lodge in paddle or motorized canoes, to appreciate the sounds of the jungle at night. With a little luck and good vision, you may even be able to spot small alligators called jacare, or other nightly creatures. Spot a gator, and the experienced guide will carefully try to catch it and bring it into the canoe. He will give a brief explanation of their habitat while you have the chance to see the creature up close. The alligator will then be safely released back into the river. No harm is ever done to the animals. The guide is highly experienced in this exercise and is dedicated to wildlife safety and preservation.

Day Three: Sunday, March 24 - Manaus, Brazil  
Breakfast: Breakfast at the lodge

Morning: Field Trip "Nature Walk": This morning meet your experienced guide who has been qualified as a jungle survival guide. During a 15-minute introduction to the rain forest, learn about his experience in jungle survival as well as what you will be walking through along the trail. On the trail, enjoy a close-up view of the jungle surroundings. The guide will stop several times during the trek and will illustrate how locals construct animal traps and shelters, and how they find vines which contain drinkable water.

Lunch: Lunch at the lodge

Afternoon: Field Trip "Monkey Forest": The center for rehabilitation and re-introduction of wild animals (known as the Monkey Forest), was created in 1991, with the intention of receiving animals which have been confiscated from illegal commerce. In this center, the animals are initially put into quarantine to be evaluated and taken care of by a team of vetenarians and biologists. With a high success rate since the start, the animals manage to reproduce naturally, creating new families and ensuring survival of the species.

Morning: Field Trip "City Tour of Manaus": Manaus is the gateway to the largest tropical forest of the planet: The Amazon Forest. Its golden age was the turn of last century, when the exportation of natural rubber made it one of the richest cities in the world. Hundreds of architects, city planners and landscape designers came from Europe and transformed the city into a European looking town, called at that time, The Little Paris of the Jungle. Drive by the custom house, prefabricated in Liverpool (England) and shipped to Manaus one hundred years ago, the clock tower (called Little Big Ben), the Cathedral and the “Palacio Rio Negro”, the private residence of a German rubber baron and later the Governor's office. Visit the lavish Opera House, entirely built with material imported from Europe during the rubber boom. Visit also the Army Zoo where more than 76 species of Amazonian animals are held in nice and clean surroundings.

Day Five: Tuesday, March 26 - Parintins, Brazil  
Breakfast: Breakfast on board the ship

Morning: Field Trip "Colorful Parintins and Boi-Bumba": First time visitors to Paratins will delight in exploring the highlights of this colorful riverside city. You will be picked up at the dock and driven through residential areas as you head into the center of town. En route, your guide will point out the many residences with its facades duly painted in red or blue, according with the owners preference for each of the two "Bulls" Caprichoso or Garantido respectively. Soon after, a stop will be made at Bumbodromo, the city's premier arena and a place for the annual and worldwide famous event, the Boi-Bumba festival. The "Cultural and Sports Center" is an arena so dedicated to Boi-Bumba that its structure is even designed in the shape of a bull's head. The arena holds just 35,000 people making tickets one of the community's most cherished commodities. Next, drive to the Garantido Pavilion. Proceed on foot through this flourishing plant for creating the giant gears, puppets and beautiful costumes used during the annual festival.

Day Six: Wednesday, March 27 - Alter do Chao, Brazil  
Note: NOTE: This is a comfortable 1.5-hour stroll; is recommended that guests wear long trousers, boots or walking shoes, and bring along insect repellent.

Morning: Field Trip "Bosque Santa Lucia": Santa Lucia Arboretum Depart by local coach for the 10-mile journey to Bosque Santa Lucia(Santa Lucia Arboretum). Upon arrival in this woodland treasure begin an exploration on foot of its natural wonders. This area boasts more than 200 species of trees including the rubber tree. Brazil provided the world with the rubber tree, Hevea Brasiliensis, and although the country no longer plays a significant part in the natural rubber trade, it is forever linked to its past. Accompanied by a local guide discover the different species of trees and their seeds such as the Brazil nut and hard wood.

Day Twelve: Tuesday, April 02 - Trinidad, Trinidad and Tobago

Morning: We begin with an excursion through the new city, downtown Port of Spain. Trinidad boasts of having everything anyone else has in the world, twin and leaning towers, a myriad of races and much more. We'll then see the seat of our Parliament, the Red House, and find out about the secret of its colour. The Queen?s Park Savannah and its turn of the 20th century colonial homes, in the Magnificent seven are next. We?ll discover some of the secrets of the Savannah including the fact that the Graf Zeppelin and other aircrafts made it there landing strip in the early 1900s. We then make our way through the old city with visits to the old slave settlements of Free Town, now known as Belmont. In this area, we?ll see the original homes of Kwame Ture (Stockley Carmichael) the architect of the Black Power movement around the world and Maycock, the first Free Slave to own land in the area. We?ll also get the history of Observatory Street and the first line of Longitude established in the western hemisphere. We will also indulge in a bit of Steelpan and Carnival history. We will then venture along the mountainous, picturesque North Coast Road through sleepy villages while viewing an abundance of flora and Fauna. Traverse cocoa estates and taste the source of some of the world's finest chocolate. Then retreat to Maracas Bay for a bit of sea (optional), sun and sand and a sampling of our world famous Maracas Bake and Shark.

Lunch: Shark and Bake Lunch at Maracas beach. The famous "Shark and Bake" of Maracas features fried shark on a locally made bread. Choose from a variety of fresh condiments, including veggies, salsas and sauces to compliment the fish.

Afternoon: After lunch, spend some time at the beach before making the drive back to the ship.

Morning: Field Trip "Mount Avila and Spectacular Caracas": With over 4 centuries of history the centre of Caracas is an eclectic mix of gleaming modern skyscrapers alongside original colonial buildings. This tour starts with a visit to Quinta Anauco, a restored colonial country house originally built in 1797 and today an oasis of calm in the inner suburb of San Bernardino. A long and illustrious line of marquises lived here until the death in 1837 of the last Marquis del Toro. The charming house laid out around a delightful patio and surrounded by gardens also welcomed Bolivar on his last visit to Caracas. Today it houses the Museum of Colonial Art and inside the meticulously restored rooms are filled with carefully selected works of art, furniture and household odds and ends from the colonial era. Venezuela's most venerated building is the Panteon Nacional. Formerly a church, the building was given its new purpose as the final resting place for eminent Venezuelans by Guzman Blanco in 1874. Unquestionably the most spectacular view in the Caribbean is found from majestic Mount Avila. Incredible views unfold as the cable car ascends to a height of 2,250 meters above sea level. From this lofty height there are incredible views as you look down on a vast sprawling metropolis where around 6 million people reside in Venezuela's most populous city.

See the collapsed Natural Bridge and the Baby Natural Bridge before passing through a landscape shaped by the Casibari Rock formations - boulders the size of small houses, and punctuated with unique divi-divi trees. Visit the Aloe Factory and learn how from cultivation, aloe is processed into skin care products. Founded by Thomas Reid in 1769, Falmouth flourished as a market centre and port for forty years at a time when Jamaica was the world's leading sugar producer. It was named after Falmouth, Cornwall in England, the birthplace of Sir William Trelawny the Governor of Jamaica who was instrumental in its establishment. While Falmouth saw little commercial advancement after the 1840’s, houses continued to be built. The town’s buildings, the old and the not-so-old, make up the historic townscape of Falmouth. These shared characteristics weave the varied building styles into a distinctive pattern of early Jamaican architecture, and a critical mass of each variety makes the town an unusually distinctive place.
