These programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.

For people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.

For hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.

Equipment Requirements
Participants may bring their own bicycles. Bicycles furnished for your program week are: no speed, foot brakes, large seat, touring bikes. Please notify program provider if you decide to bring your own bike. Helmets are required and are furnished as part of your program. Feel free to bring your own if you wish.

Epworth is located on 43 acres covered with moss-draped live oak trees and situated along the banks of the Frederica River. Motel rooms and meeting spaces are short distances apart. Beautifully landscaped walkways line the grounds, as well as a fishing pier, gazebo, and tennis courts.

Hotel check-in begins at 4:00 pm. Road Scholar registration is at 5:00 pm in the conference room of the hotel.

A buffet style dinner is served in the Epworth Dining Room. A soup and salad bar plus hot entrees and desserts are included at every lunch and dinner. Dinner is at 6:00 p.m.

Day Two: Monday, October 07
- Bike Safety/Bike Touring/Biking Continues/Presentation
Breakfast:
A full southern breakfast is served buffet style in the dining room. Choices include eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, oatmeal, cereal, milk, toast, sweet rolls, pancakes/waffles, juices, fresh fruit, coffee and tea. Y
Morning:
Overview of St. Simon's History. Followed by bike safety orientation. Day begins around 10:30 AM for biking. Biking is approximately 10-15 miles with historian. Stops and entrances into key historical points along the way will include Fort Frederica, Christ Church, the village, and other points of interest.
Lunch:
Sack lunch for biking trip.
Afternoon:
Biking continues throughout the afternoon. St. Simons south end biking.
Dinner:
Dinner begins at 6:00 PM.
Evening:
Presentation on coastal ecology.

Day Three: Tuesday, October 08
- Lecture/Marsh Trip/Free afternoon/Presentation
Breakfast:
A full southern breakfast is served buffet style in the dining room. Choices include eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, oatmeal, cereal, milk, toast, sweet rolls, pancakes/waffles, juices, fresh fruit, coffee and tea. Y
Morning:
Your coastal naturalist will lead the bike trip to the marshes. Expect to see birds as well as other marsh creatures along the journey. Participants will learn about Georgia's expansive estuarine and coastal ecosystems, as well as the plants and animals that depend on them. Participants will take a marsh walk to better see and understand the salt marsh ecology. It is a fun and interesting morning that allows you a different look at the island from the salt marshes.
Lunch:
Lunch at conference center.
Afternoon:
Spend the afternoon in the village, biking on your own or visit the beach. It's your choice and there is plenty to do and see. Enjoy! Coordinator will be glad to help you with places to go and things to see. If you go off the island, you will need a car.
Dinner:
A buffet style dinner is served in the Epworth Dining Room. A soup and salad bar plus hot entrees and desserts are included at every lunch and dinner. Dinner is at 6:00 p.m.

- BikeTouring St. Simons/Biking Continues/Jekyll Island History
Breakfast:

Morning:
Your biking adventure will continue as you explore more of St. Simons Island and its history. Biking is approx. 10-15 miles around areas of St. Simons Island.
Lunch:
Box lunch is included on your picnic on St. Simons.
Afternoon:
Continue to explore St. Simons Island.
Dinner:
A buffet style dinner is served in the Epworth Dining Room. A soup and salad bar plus hot entrees and desserts are included at every lunch and dinner. Dinner is at 6:00 p.m.
Evening:
An historian will give you the history of Jekyll Island in preparation for the next days trip.

Day Five: Thursday, October 10
- Jekyll Island Bike Tour/Bike on Jekyll/Social
Breakfast:
A full southern breakfast is served buffet style in the dining room. Choices include eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, oatmeal, cereal, milk, toast, sweet rolls, pancakes/waffles, juices, fresh fruit, coffee and tea. Y
Morning:
Explore over 20 miles of winding trails perfect for biking. These paved paths are a great way to explore Jekyll Islands historic sites, beaches, marshes and maritime forests. You will park your bikes for a tram tour of the historic district of Jekyll to include the millionaire cottages, Faith Chapel with an original Tiffany stained glass, and the famous Jekyll Island Hotel. Biking will continue after lunch on Jekyll Island. Trails wind along the ocean and the interior maritime forest....breathtaking!
Lunch:
Lunch will be at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel with views of the intracoastal waterway.
Afternoon:
Biking on Jekyll Island continues.
Dinner:
A buffet style dinner is served in the Epworth Dining Room. A soup and salad bar plus hot entrees and desserts are included at every lunch and dinner. Dinner is at 6:00 p.m.
Evening:
"Georgia's Secret Seashore" video will be presented.

- Wrap up/Check-Out
