Easy
For people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
Moderate
These programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
Active
For people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately Challenging
For hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
Challenging
Get ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Bay Front trail
There is the Bay Front trail, excellent for walking or jogging, along San Francisco Bay right in front of the hotel, with fabulous views of the Bay and four-acre park and lagoon. Trail features a small fishing pier at the far end of the hotel's parking lot, for scenic views or angling. Many bird-watching opportunities!

Two miles from hotel. Coyote Point, a rocky outcropping of chert, was once an island; the first people to utilize it were the Ohlone Indians. Three shell mounds on the north side indicate activities such as fishing, eating, or possibly religious ceremonies. In 1845, Pio Pico, the Mexican governor, granted the island to Cayetano Arenas as payment for a debt. In 1850, it was sold again to the shipping firm of Mellus and Howard, who reclaimed the marsh and erected levees and drainage ditches for a dairy pasture, and later built a pier for loading lumber. In 1940, the Howard estate sold the 402 acres to the San Mateo County Parks & Recreation Dept. Stroll (or fish) at the marina breakwater, the beach promenade (watch for windsurfers), or view the saltwater marsh with its shorebirds, just south of the yacht club. Chip a few balls at Poplar Creek Golf Course (see listing below), or visit Coyote Point Yacht Harbor and Club. Visit their website for more info on the features mentioned, or call 650-573-2592.
